As an Engineer, RCM (Direct Material Sourcing), you will play a key role in driving direct material sourcing strategies and supplier development to support manufacturing operations and new product initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure cost-effective, high-quality material sourcing while aligning with Molex's compliance, quality, and sustainability standards.
Our Team
You will be part of the Regional Category Management (RCM) team within the DSS division, working closely with plant operations, engineering, and global sourcing teams. The team focuses on optimizing supplier performance and supporting business growth through strategic direct material sourcing initiatives.
What You Will Do
- Drive direct material sourcing execution to meet plant and division requirements while supporting business objectives
- Partner with Category Management and cross-functional teams to deliver direct material sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Engage with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing needs and provide effective direct material sourcing solutions
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve material or sourcing-related discrepancies
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through regular engagement and performance discussions
- Evaluate, recommend, and onboard new suppliers, including conducting supplier audits for direct materials
- Support new product development (NPD) and transfer projects by identifying and developing new direct material suppliers
- Contribute to cost-saving initiatives by optimizing direct material sourcing strategies and total cost of ownership
- Drive supplier performance management activities, including annual scorecard processes
- Analyze spending patterns and supplier performance to improve direct material sourcing efficiency and consolidation
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve direct material sourcing processes and operational effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with Molex guiding principles, quality systems (TQM), ISO standards, and EHS/CSR requirements
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electronics) or Business-related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in direct material sourcing, procurement, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and direct material sourcing/procurement practices
- Working proficiency in English (both written and verbal)
- Familiar with international standards, compliance requirements (ISO, CSR, RBA), and local regulations
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience in direct material sourcing within electronics or electrical manufacturing industries
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret sourcing and spend data
- Understanding of supplier contract management and negotiation principles
- Familiarity with Vietnam supplier market and supplier base development
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
