Software Automation Engineer

You may be required to work on one or more projects concurrently as agreed with the Engineering Operations Leader and the Software Team Leader. The position holds responsibility for the software design and engineering within the assigned projects.
As a Software Automation Engineer, you will contribute to software development and testing activities under the guidance of senior engineers and project leads. You may support one or more projects depending on business needs.
You will be responsible for:
- Assisting with development, testing, and documentation for PLC or SCADA applications.
- Completing assigned tasks on schedule and reporting progress to senior engineers.
- Supporting the creation of key engineering documents such as Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Software Requirements, and Test Procedures.
- Participating in software validation, including unit testing and system testing.
- Helping investigate and resolve technical issues identified during development or testing.
- Collaborating with crossfunctional teams (Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations).
- Supporting interface checks and documentation updates to ensure alignment across project teams.
- Attending technical reviews, lessons-learned sessions, and internal knowledge-sharing meetings.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Automation, or similar discipline.
- Have 1-2 years of experience in automation, controls, or industrial software (internships or projects also considered).
- Have foundational knowledge of PLC programming (TwinCAT preferred) or SCADA development (Ignition preferred).
- Demonstrate strong problemsolving skills and a willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
- Understand basic software development principles, version control, and testing practices.
- Possess good communication and documentation skills.
- Be willing to occasionally travel to site locations or customer facilities as required.
- Be a proactive team player who is eager to learn from senior engineers and contribute to project success.
