Main purpose of position
Currently we are looking for an Electrician in Terengganu, Malaysia to be part of our global team working together towards our vision Improving our future. As our Electrician, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all electrical systems and equipment across the facility, supporting optimal plant performance through expert maintenance, troubleshooting, and compliance with safety standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Execute modification, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
- Perform switching, isolation, earthing, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures in accordance with authorization level.
- Carry out both preventative and corrective maintenance tasks to ensure optimal system performance.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faults across all electrical systems and equipment.
- Maintain photovoltaic (PV) arrays, combiner boxes, and DC systems.
- Ensure inverter functionality and availability through proactive troubleshooting.
- Service and maintain transformers and switchgear.
- Conduct LV and HV switching operations as per authorization level.
- Manage monthly inspections of electrical equipment and tools to ensure compliance and safety.
- Fulfill duties as an Authorized Person and Responsible Person in line with plant operational requirements.
- Assist with technical and operational reporting.
- Perform various Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) inspections to uphold safety standards.
- Report directly to the Plant Supervisor and assume Appointed Person on Duty (APD) responsibilities when the Supervisor is off-site.
- Support general site operations and tasks as needed.
Qualifications And Competencies
Education: A Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
Experience: Minimum
510 years of practical experience in electrical maintenance, operations, and troubleshooting, particularly in high-voltage (HV) environments. Experience in solar power plants or industrial facilities is highly advantageous.
Certification & Competency: Must hold a valid competency certificate for High Voltage (HV) systems, minimum BO 33kV certified by the relevant authority. B4 certification is highly preferred.
Language: Fluent both in written and spoken Bahasa and English.
Skills: Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team and willingness to learn.
