Job Description

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to the development of innovative electrical systems and components for Hitachi's diverse product portfolio. This role involves the full lifecycle of electrical design, from concept to implementation, ensuring performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • You will design, develop, and test electrical circuits, systems, and components for various Hitachi products, adhering to industry standards and company specifications. You will perform detailed circuit analysis, simulations, and calculations to optimize performance, reliability, and cost, create and maintain comprehensive electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PCB layouts, and bill of materials (BOMs).
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and manufacturing personnel, to integrate electrical designs into larger systems, conduct prototyping, testing, and validation of electrical designs, identifying and resolving design issues and performing root cause analysis.
  • You will evaluate and select appropriate electrical components, considering performance, cost, availability, and regulatory compliance, develop and implement test procedures and fixtures for electrical components and systems, document design processes, specifications, test results, and other relevant technical information.
  • You will stay abreast of new technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements related to electrical engineering, participate in design reviews, provide technical expertise and constructive feedback.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience (typically more than 3years) in electrical design and development, preferably within an industrial, automotive, or consumer electronics context.
  • Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles, power electronics, embedded systems, and control systems, knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS).
  • Proficiency in simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink), strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
