Job Description

Position: EHS Manager

Location: Hanoi, Vietnam

Job Summary

EHS Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for all Environment, Health, and Safety functions at the Vietnam site. This role owns the design, deployment, governance, and continuous improvement of EHS management systems, drives regulatory compliance and risk mitigation, leads incident prevention and safety culture excellence, and partners with site leadership to deliver sustainable, zero‑harm operations in compliance with global corporate standards and local Vietnamese regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic EHS Leadership & Governance

- Lead the development and execution of the site EHS strategic plan, aligned with global corporate EHS goals and local legal obligations.

- Establish and own EHS performance metrics, governance processes, and accountability frameworks to drive consistent delivery.

- Lead, coach, and develop the EHS team; set clear priorities, build capabilities, and ensure high operational efficiency.

- Partner with plant leadership, production, engineering, maintenance, and HR to integrate EHS into capital projects, process changes, NPI, and daily operational decisions.

2. Occupational Health & Safety Leadership

- Oversee all workplace safety, risk assessment, JHA, process hazard analysis, and periodic safety audits; ensure high-risk activities (LOTO, confined space, lifting, machine guarding) are strictly controlled.

- Lead serious incident, accident, and near‑miss investigations using robust RCA methodologies; drive effective CAPA and prevent recurrence.

- Manage emergency response systems, crisis preparedness, fire safety, first aid, and ERT capability building.

- Oversee occupational health monitoring, ergonomics, chemical safety, and PPE programs to protect employee well‑being.

3. Environmental Compliance & Sustainability

- Ensure full compliance with environmental regulations related to air emissions, wastewater, hazardous and non‑hazardous waste, stormwater (SPCC), and noise.

- Manage environmental permitting, monitoring, reporting, recordkeeping, and regulatory submissions.

- Lead waste reduction, recycling, energy conservation, carbon mitigation, and green manufacturing initiatives.

- Drive environmental performance improvement and support corporate sustainability targets.

4. Compliance, Audit & Continuous Improvement

- Monitor global and local EHS regulatory updates; conduct gap assessments and ensure timely compliance implementation.

- Lead internal EHS audits and prepare for external regulatory, customer, and third‑party audits; ensure 100% closure of findings.

- Drive continuous improvement using data analytics, lean, and best practices to reduce risk, lower incident rates, and improve efficiency.

- Manage workers compensation, return‑to‑work programs, and compliance with labor and EHS laws.

5. EHS Systems & Culture Excellence

- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and internal EHS management systems.

- Lead the site safety committee and build a proactive, visible, and employee‑engaged safety culture.

- Develop and deliver high‑impact EHS training and communication to strengthen awareness and compliance at all levels.

Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

- 10+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing; 5+ years in a formal EHS managerial or lead role.

- Demonstrated expertise in EHS management systems (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001), regulatory compliance, risk management, incident investigation, and audit leadership.

- Deep knowledge of OSHA, EPA, RBA, and Vietnamese EHS and labor regulations.

- Strong leadership, cross‑functional influence, project management, and problem‑solving skills.

- Excellent written and verbal English communication; ability to present and influence senior leadership.

- Experience in electronics manufacturing, high‑volume assembly, or multinational corporate environments.

- Industrial hygiene monitoring, process safety, and sustainability project leadership experience.
