Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and company standards to maintain a safe workplace and minimize environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Regulations
Monitor and ensure adherence to local, national, and international EHS laws and regulations.
Maintain all required permits, licenses, and documentation.
Prepare reports and documentation on environment, occupational safety, and fire prevention as required by law.
Provide explanations and clarifications regarding compliance issues.
Work with certification bodies for ISO 14001, ISO 45001 to maintain management systems.
Risk Assessment & Safety Programs
Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments regularly.
Develop and implement safety programs, emergency response plans, and environmental initiatives.
Perform safety checks when contractors enter the facility (contractor safety management).
Training & Awareness
Organize EHS training sessions for employees and contractors.
Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
Incident Management
Investigate accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents.
Prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
Liaise with authorities in case of environmental incidents or serious accidents.
Submit incident reports in accordance with legal requirements.
Audits & Inspections
Perform regular workplace inspections and audits.
Host inspections and audits from agencies such as the Department of Natural Resources & Environment, Department of Labor, and Fire Prevention Police.
Ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
Sustainability & Environmental Management
Monitor waste management, emissions, and resource usage.
Drive initiatives to reduce environmental footprint.
Participate in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programs related to environmental protection.
Collaborate with local authorities on safety and environmental awareness campaigns.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
Knowledge of EHS regulations and standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001 preferred).
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead safety programs and influence organizational culture.
Experience
Minimum 35 years in EHS roles within manufacturing or industrial environments.
