Job Description

Arrowster is an AI-powered study abroad platform built by a team from Harvard and Oxford, backed by founding and board members from OpenAI, Duolingo, and Meta. In the past year, we've grown 900% across all markets and crossed $1M+ in booked revenue. Our students don't come to us looking for a school list — they come looking for someone who can think with them about what their next 5 years should look like.

That someone is you.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You'll be the person students and parents trust at the most consequential decision point of their life so far. Study abroad isn't a transaction — it's a 6 to 12-month journey of doubt, ambition, family negotiation, and recalibration. You'll guide them through it with honesty, structure, and a real point of view.

You're not selling a school. You're helping a student see clearly what they actually want, what they're actually capable of, and what's actually possible — then building the path that gets them there.

This is a full-cycle role: from first discovery call to acceptance, deposit, and pre-departure.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

• Student counseling end-to-end: discovery → school list → application strategy → essay direction → submission → decision support → enrollment

• Parent communication: most decisions are made with parents, not by students. You can hold both conversations — emotional with the student, practical with the parent — in the same room

• Profile assessment using Arrowster's SYNAPSE methodology: read a student's profile honestly, identify the real gaps, and build a realistic application strategy that targets schools the student can actually win

• Application quality control: review essays, recommendation strategy, school list balance — you catch what others miss before submission

• Conversion ownership: from qualified lead to signed contract. You own your pipeline and your numbers

• Student success tracking: stay close to students from contract signing through acceptance. Their outcome is your outcome

WHO YOU ARE

• You've studied abroad yourself. You know what it actually feels like to write the first application essay at 2am, to refresh the portal for decision day, to call home about a rejection. We strongly prefer candidates who've done this — preferably with a meaningful scholarship (university merit, government scholarship, or named external scholarship)

• You can be honest with a student about whether their dream school is realistic, without crushing their ambition

• You're commercially aware: you understand counseling is also a sales motion. Conversion matters. You don't apologize for that

• You can sit with a parent for 90 minutes and leave them feeling like Arrowster is the most trustworthy decision they've made for their child

• Excellent English (IELTS 6.5+ or equivalent confidence) and native Vietnamese

• 3-5 years experience in study abroad counseling, admissions consulting, or adjacent roles (high

school college counselor, university admissions, education sales)

• A clear point of view on what makes a strong application — and you can defend it

YOU'LL STAND OUT IF

• You received a competitive scholarship (Chevening, Fulbright, VEF, Endeavour, university full-ride, etc.)

• You've worked with US/UK/Australia applications at an elite/competitive tier — not just generic study abroad

• You've done your own application from scratch (not through an agency) and remember how it felt

KPIS YOU'LL BE HELD TO

• Discovery call → signed contract conversion rate

• Number of qualified students enrolled per quarter

• Application success rate (admissions to target-tier schools) • Student NPS (post-acceptance feedback)

WHY ARROWSTER

• We're not the IDP model. We don't push schools to hit commission targets. We build the right plan for the student, charge a transparent service fee, and back it with a 200% money-back guarantee

• Real ownership: you'll have direct say in how we counsel, no scripts to memorize, no upsell push

• Work with a team from Harvard, Oxford, OpenAI, Duolingo, and Meta — people building something that actually matters

• Your students will get into schools they didn't think they could. That's the job

• Competitive compensation with performance bonus — base salary is open to negotiation based on experience, with a meaningful commission structure on top
