The Regional Strategic Sourcing Director will lead the sourcing strategy and execution across Asia, ensuring supplier excellence, cost competitiveness, and supply reliability. This is a senior strategic role requiring strong vision, hands-on leadership, and the ability to manage change, build high-performing teams, and influence executive-level stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
- Define and implement a regional sourcing strategy aligned with global objectives, focusing on supplier base optimization, risk management, and cost competitiveness.
- Build strong relationships with key suppliers across Asia, lead negotiations of high-value contracts, and ensure supplier performance on cost, quality, delivery, and compliance.
- Act as the primary sourcing representative to the board and senior leadership, providing market insights, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations.
- Lead change management initiatives, including supplier consolidation, nearshoring/offshoring, and process improvements to support business transformation.
- Build and develop a high-performing, hands-on sourcing team. Define clear KPIs, coach and mentor team members, and drive cross-functional collaboration with engineering, quality, operations, and finance.
- Introduce best practices, digital tools, and sustainability initiatives to enhance transparency, efficiency, and long-term competitiveness.
Key Requirements
- 12+ years in sourcing/procurement, with at least 5 years in a regional or global leadership role.
- Strong track record of supplier relationship management across multiple Asian countries.
- Experience leading restructuring, cost optimization, and change management initiatives.
- Strategic and visionary mindset with ability to translate strategy into action
- Excellent negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills (including board-level engagement).
- Hands-on leadership style; ability to lead by example.
- Strong problem-solving, crisis management, and decision-making capabilities.
- Cultural adaptability and willingness to travel frequently.
