Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

Coordinator of the entire pricing process in the life insurance product development cycle. Responsible for controlling assumption inputs, pricing models, reviewing product financial sustainability and technical justification in strategy approval meetings. This role requires holistic thinking and the ability to provide a sharp technical perspective.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Strategic Pricing Direction & Assumption Governance

- Establish standardized assumption frameworks across product lines (traditional, investment-linked, health) aligned with long-term financial strategy

- Approve pricing model logic and ensure rigorous control over input assumptions such as mortality rates, persistency, operational expenses, and investment yields

- Conduct advanced quantitative analyses including sensitivity testing, scenario analysis, and long-term financial sustainability evaluations

- Ensure all assumption frameworks are systematized, independently verifiable, and compliant with industry standards and local regulations

- Collaborate closely with Risk Management to integrate assumption validation tools and early warning mechanisms into enterprise risk processes

- Continuously monitor and refresh assumptions based on market changes, customer behavior trends, and internal feedback

- Balance market competitiveness with acceptable financial risk thresholds in pricing decisions

2. Executive Advisory & Strategic Stakeholder Engagement

- Serve as senior technical advisor in Product Council meetings and strategic product deliberations with executive teams

- Present financial impact assessments, benefit structure logic, and risk analyses clearly to non-technical stakeholders across departments

- Provide pricing consultation for Marketing teams on promotions, unique product features, and campaign affordability

- Act as liaison with Finance to evaluate product profitability against capital plans and forecast models

- Collaborate with Legal to ensure benefit design and pricing structures comply with regulatory expectations and contractual clarity

- Engage directly with reinsurers to harmonize assumptions, pricing levels, and terms of engagement

- Support Distribution by articulating product value propositions, pricing logic, and competitive differentiation

3. Organizational Leadership & Technical Innovation

- Develop actuarial talent pipeline by designing career paths, leadership grooming plans, and competency-based training programs

- Champion adoption of new technologies including AI-based analytics, real-time assumption dashboards, and pricing automation tools

- Lead feasibility assessments, pilot implementation, and integration of technical enhancements into existing pricing infrastructure

- Chair internal audits and coordinate with external reviewers to evaluate pricing model soundness and product structure compliance

- Cultivate a culture of data-driven decision-making, continuous improvement, and analytical excellence across the pricing team

- Design and implement change management processes to align system upgrades with legacy frameworks

- Ensure the team remains adaptive to evolving market trends and technological advancements in actuarial practices

QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE

-Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Actuary, Risk Management, Finance or Insurance; Master's degree is an advantage

Experience:

- Minimum 12 years in the field of life insurance actuarial, of which at least 6 years in a senior management position

- Experience working with authorities, reinsurance organizations, and company executives

- Having professional certificates: ASA, FSA, FIA or equivalent is an advantage

Skills:

- Strategic leadership and decision-making skills in complex environments

- Ability to present technical information clearly to a variety of audiences

- Managing change and developing organizational capacity

- In-depth understanding of professional ethics and insurance laws in Vietnam
