Key Responsibilities:
Partner with senior leadership to align Headquarter HR strategy with business objectives. Develop and implement HR initiatives that improve operational efficiency, employee engagement, and retention in a plant/industrial setting. Analyze HR metrics (turnover, attendance, time-to-fill, safety incidents) to drive decisions and report on trends.
2. Talent Acquisition & Management:
Oversee full-cycle recruitment for exempt, non-exempt, and hourly production roles, ensuring a robust pipeline of skilled talent. And lead succession planning and talent development programs to build leadership bench strength.
3. Employee & Labor Relations:
Provide expert guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary actions. Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Ensure positive union relations if applicable; administer collective bargaining agreements and participate in negotiations.
4. Training & Organizational Development:
Identify training needs for operations, leadership, and safety compliance. Develop and deliver training programs (e.g., supervisory skills, lean manufacturing principles, safety protocols). Drive initiatives to enhance organizational culture, morale, and communication across shifts.
5. Compensation, Benefits, & HR Compliance:
Oversee the administration of compensation, benefits, and recognition programs competitive in the manufacturing sector. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws (OSHA, FLSA, FMLA, EEO, etc.) specific to manufacturing environments. Manage workers compensation programs and safety compliance in partnership with EHS teams.
6. HR Operations & Systems:
Oversee HRIS and ensure data integrity. Leverage technology for efficient HR processes. Develop and update HR policies and procedures, including those specific to plant safety and conduct.
7. Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team, setting clear objectives and fostering a high-performance culture. Manage HR budget and resources effectively.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
1.Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or HR certification (SPHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
2.Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
3.Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) in directly leading and developing an HR team.
4.Deep, hands-on knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws applicable to manufacturing (e.g., wage & hour for hourly workers, OSHA, etc.).
5.Strong experience in talent acquisition for engineering, technical, and production roles.
6.Demonstrated ability to handle complex employee relations issues and investigations.
7.Experience with unionized workforces is a significant plus.
8.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
9.Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
10.Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office.
