Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Director of Finance role located in Hanoi. The Director of Finance will oversee the financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. Day-to-day responsibilities include financial planning, preparation of financial statements, developing strategies for optimizing financial performance, and delivering insightful financial analyses to support strategic decision-making. The Director will also ensure the preparation of timely reports in alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements, while managing financial risks and budgets effectively.

Financial Management & Strategic Planning

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting to provide accurate financial projections.
  • Analyze financial performance against budgets and provide actionable insights to the Executive Committee to optimize revenue and manage costs.
  • Manage cash flow, capital expenditure (CAPEX), and working capital effectively.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure full compliance with Vietnam Accounting Standards (VAS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and local tax regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes.

Internal Controls & Risk Management

  • Maintain a robust internal control environment to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risk.
  • Review and approve all contracts, purchase orders, and payment cycles.
  • Ensure strict adherence to The Ascott Limited's global financial policies and SOPs.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage, mentor, and develop the Finance & Accounting team (AP, AR, Income Audit, General Ledger, Cost Control).
  • Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the department.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Sales & Marketing and Operations teams to review pricing strategies and productivity.
  • Assist the General Manager in owner relations by providing transparent and professional financial reporting.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. CPA, ACCA, or CMA certification is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 35 years of experience in a similar role within the Hospitality industry (5 star hotels or luxury serviced residences).
  • Skills:
  • Mastery of hotel accounting software (e.g., Opera, Oracle,...).
  • Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling.
  • In-depth knowledge of Vietnam tax laws and statutory requirements.
  • Competencies:
  • Experiences in set-up and pre-opening properties
  • Strong leadership, analytical thinking, high integrity, and excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Expertise in Financial Planning and managing budgets effectively
  • Strong knowledge of Financial Statements and Financial Reporting processes
  • Proven Analytical Skills with the ability to evaluate and develop financial strategies
  • Proficiency in Finance principles and practices
  • Strong leadership abilities and team management experience
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented mindset
