General Summary:
Position Summary
Qualcomm is seeking a seasoned engineering leader to lead the Product Software Integration & Commercialization (PSIC) and Product Development & Test (PDT) organization in Vietnam. This role will drive software commercialization, product stability, system integration, and release execution across multiple business units (BUs), enabling successful customer launches and long-term product quality. This leader will be responsible for building and scaling high-performing teams, establishing strong BU leadership, fostering cross-organizational collaboration, and driving engineering excellence across geographically distributed teams. The role requires deep expertise in product-level software integration, system stability, software release management, customer engagement, and operational leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 15+ years of engineering experience in embedded software, platform software, system integration, product commercialization, or product stability domains.
- 7+ years of engineering leadership experience managing large, geographically distributed teams.
- Strong experience in product or system-level integration, build, software commercialization, stability test, release management, and customer engagements.
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional organizations across multiple product lines and business units.
- Deep understanding of product-level software integration, system architecture, quality engineering, automation, and customer deployment processes.
- Experience driving engineering productivity initiatives using automation, analytics, AI, and GenAI-based solutions.
- Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and customer engagement skills.
Key Responsibilities
Overall PSIC & PDT Functional Leadership
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for PSIC and PDT functions across multiple Qualcomm business units and product lines.
- Build, sustain, mentor, and grow a strong bench of BU-specific technical leads and engineering teams capable of independently driving execution excellence.
- Establish a scalable organizational model that promotes leadership development, succession planning, and organizational resilience.
- Drive harmonization of tools, methodologies, automation frameworks, quality metrics, and operational processes across BUs while respecting unique business requirements.
- Foster cross-pollination of technical expertise, best practices, lessons learned, and engineering innovations across organizations to accelerate growth and improve execution consistency.
- Continuously evaluate industry trends, emerging technologies, architectural changes, and customer needs to evolve organizational capabilities.
- Partner closely with software, systems, hardware, customer engineering, program management, and product management organizations to ensure successful commercialization and delivery.
- Drive accountability for execution, quality, predictability, and customer satisfaction across multiple programs and product portfolios.
Software Build, Release & Delivery Excellence
- Own software build, release, branching, and delivery governance across multiple product programs.
- Ensure predictable execution against software milestones, customer commitments, and commercialization schedules.
- Drive continuous improvements in build infrastructure, CI/CD systems, automation workflows, and release management processes.
- Establish engineering discipline around release quality, readiness criteria, risk assessments, and escalation management.
- Drive operational rigor to improve delivery predictability, software maturity, and overall customer satisfaction.
Global Collaboration, Engagement & Program Execution
- Lead globally distributed teams and drive seamless collaboration across engineering organizations located in North America, Vietnam, India, China, and other development centers.
- Build strong partnerships across software development, systems engineering, hardware engineering, program management, product management, and customer engineering teams.
- Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, ownership, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
- Provide executive leadership with clear visibility into program execution, risks, dependencies, and strategic opportunities.
- Serve as a senior technical and operational leader for strategic customers and ecosystem partners.
- Partner with customers to understand emerging quality challenges, field issues, and product usage patterns that impact software stability.
- Collaborate with customer engineering and test organizations to continuously enhance product-level stability validation mechanisms, test methodologies, coverage models, and quality feedback loops.
- Participate in executive reviews, customer technical discussions, commercialization readiness reviews, and strategic planning engagements.
Operational Excellence, Resource Optimization & Engineering Productivity
- Drive organization-wide operational excellence through effective planning, prioritization, resource allocation, and execution management.
- Continuously evaluate opportunities to optimize engineering investments while maintaining high quality and customer satisfaction.
- Establish data-driven mechanisms to measure productivity, engineering efficiency, stability improvements, and organizational effectiveness.
- Leverage modern analytics platforms, engineering dashboards, and AI-driven insights to improve decision-making and execution predictability.
- Champion the adoption of GenAI-enabled tools and intelligent engineering workflows to improve debugging, test generation, issue triage, release management, knowledge sharing, and engineering productivity.
- Drive a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning to maximize organizational impact.
