Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction for growing the business franchises.
- Lead the business leadership team in growing and managing the business in a risk-focused and sustainable manner, while developing customer-centric products and outcomes.
- Oversee the implementation of business plans to ensure achievement of strategic and operational goals.
- Set direction for managing the risks associated with the businesses. Control the risk profile and portfolio quality of the business segments. Ensure that sound and appropriate governance arrangements are put in place within the business segments.
- Lead the transformation of the business to accelerate digital adoption and ensure the business is future- proofed.
- Credit approval authority and limit as prescribed in the Group Credit Policy.
- Mandate or authority to approve operating expenses, projects and capital expenditure as prescribed in the Group Requisition, Procurement and Payment Policy.
- Authority to execute monetary instruments, sign agreement obligating the Bank for provision of services, as listed in the Authorised Signatures book.
- Setting direction for the management of risks associated with the Group, and operating within the approved risk appetite;
- Managing the risk profile and portfolio quality of the Group. Collaborating with Line 2 Functions and specialist functions to manage risks. Ensuring that sound and appropriate governance arrangements are put in place;
- Managing risks associated with Personal Financial Services including the following:
(i) Operational Risk;
(ii) Conduct Risk;
(iii) Regulatory Risk; and
(iv) Reputational Risk.
- Lead and evaluate the CPP leadership team. Determine the accountabilities of subordinate Material Risk Personnel (MRP) and direct one-downs. Carry out appropriate supervision.
- Build a strong succession pipeline for the leadership team.
- Provide tone from the top with the emphasis that hiring, training and remuneration of staff would factor in the obligations to uphold a strong risk culture and proper conduct.
- Execute the approved performance management and remuneration framework. Ensure disciplinary actions are taken where necessary. Ensure responsible persons are fit and proper, where applicable.
Qualifications
- A strong background with more than 20 years of working experience with 10 years in senior management level in a banking/financial services organization industry and competitor products/services
- Experience managing in a global and matrixed environment including managing cross functional areas with direct and indirect reports (e.g. risk, finance, decision management, marketing, operations)
- Working knowledge of the different systems, theories, and practices relevant to a function as well as practical experience of multiple business cycles
- In-depth knowledge of industry and competitor products/services
- Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master's degree preferred
