Digital Manufacturing Site Administrator

Location: Thang Long Industrial Park II, Hung Yen, Vietnam.

Reports To: Regional IT (dotted-line Site OpEx manager)

Site Context

Molex is expanding its Vietnam footprint with a new high‑tech facility in Hung Yen (Thang Long Industrial Park II) to produce high‑speed connectors, cables, and optical devices, supported by significant new investment and large‑scale automation. The Vietnam expansion features advanced robotics, high‑speed injection molding, stamping, plating, and automated assembly, reflecting a step‑change in digital/automation maturity across the Asia manufacturing network. Public sources reference investment ranging from :$128M to $145M for the Hung Yen build‑out and its 100,000 m² footprint.

Job Summary

Digital Manufacturing Site Administrator is the site-level owner and steward of digital manufacturing systems, responsible for ensuring effective integration between operational technology (OT) and enterprise IT platforms in an advanced manufacturing environment. It drives the performance, security, and scalability of automation‑intensive production (robotics, molding, stamping, plating, optical manufacturing) and enterprise platforms (ERP/MES/SCADA, data & analytics), aligned to Molex's global technology direction.

Key Responsibilities

IT/OT Infrastructure & Operations

  • Operate and optimize site IT/OT infrastructure including site networks, on prem and cloud compute, identity & access systems, endpoints, and plant floor OT devices (PLCs, HMIs, IIoT gateways, historians).
  • Maintain current architecture diagrams, IP schemes, asset inventory, runbooks and SOPs to enable fast recovery and consistent operations.
  • Implement and enforce secure remote access, segmentation between IT and OT, and endpoint/hardening standards in partnership with corporate IT/cybersecurity.
  • Lead capacity planning and lifecycle management: forecast resource needs, plan hardware/software refreshes, coordinate procurement, and manage warranties/licenses.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management


  • Protect intellectual property and supplier data by applying site cybersecurity controls, secure configuration baselines, and credential/certificate management.
  • Maintain, test and validate disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical digital assets; ensure backups and restore procedures are current.
  • Act as the site liaison to Corporate Cybersecurity for vulnerability remediation, incident response, and compliance audits.

Vendor & Budget Management


  • Manage vendor relationships for support, maintenance, licensing and professional services; coordinate on site vendor activities to minimize production impact.
  • Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) optimization through lifecycle planning, consolidation opportunities and cost/value analysis.

Global Demand Intake Process


  • Ensure all site IT/OT requests are submitted through the global intake workflow and meet intake standards.
  • Evaluate and prioritize requests based on strategic alignment, architecture fit, cost/value, urgency, compliance, and resource impact.
  • Proactively engage site stakeholders (Operations, Engineering, Quality, SCM) to ensure standardized request submission and to protect project timelines.
  • Leverage global steering and prioritization forums to secure funding, align priorities, and provide transparency on site demand and project status.

Qualifications


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Electrical/Automation/Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of IT leadership in manufacturing—electronics/optics/automation preferred; experience with new plant build‑out and ramp strongly valued.

Technical Skills


  • Enterprise IT (networks, cloud/on‑prem, identity, endpoint), OT (PLC/SCADA/MES), data platforms/ETL; cybersecurity for IT/OT.
  • Exposure to robotics, alignment/vision, AOI, metrology, and integration of precision equipment into MES/SCADA/data lakes.

Leadership & Soft Skills


  • Strategy execution, stakeholder management (plant, regional, global), communication, vendor negotiation, and change leadership in high‑growth environments.

Working Relationships


  • Site: Operations, Engineering/Automation, Quality, Supply Chain, EHS, Finance
  • Regional/Global: Enterprise IT, Cybersecurity, Digital/Analytics, Architecture, Compliance

Travel / Language


  • Occasional regional/international travel for IT meeting joining vendor engagement and best‑practice sharing.
  • Vietnamese, English required, Chinese as a plus.
