Developer Advocate Role at ByteRover:

ByteRover (byterover.dev) is building a context layer for coding agents and developer teams. It is a Github-like context hub for developer teams to share, curate, and recall the exact piece of context for agents on every task. This enables reduced token spendings, clean context windows, faster agents and an extraordinarily collaborative workflow between developer team and coding agents. ByteRover is the ideal context engineering solution for developer teams using AI IDEs like ClaudeCode, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot, and more.

As a Developer Advocate, your role is to educate our targeted developers on how ByteRover can benefit them, and to help them adopt and succeed with the product. This means you will take on a wide range of work to achieve that goal, from creating content (videos, blogs, social posts), to engaging with users in our community, and representing ByteRover at events (online/ offline) to share ByteRover with the broader developer community. Once working with us, you will fully own how developers benefit from the product.

What you will work on

1 - Create Developer-Facing Content

• Create educational videos about product features and real-world use cases (with video editing handled by our editing team)
• Write technical tutorials, guides, and product education materials
• Write thought leadership blogs and hands-on technical content

2 - Distribution & Engagement

• Share and discuss content in developer communities (e.g. Reddit, Discord, etc)
• Participate in relevant external communities to build trust and visibility

3 - Community & Feedback Loop

• Engage users across internal and external communities
• Collect qualitative feedback and bring developer insights directly to the product team

4 - Developer Ecosystem Building

• Collaborate with Growth and Product on developer-first campaigns and integrations
• Host or support workshops, demos, and community initiatives (online/ offline)

What we are looking for:

• Strong technical foundation with genuine curiosity for AI and agentic coding
• Hands-on familiarity with tools like Cursor, Claude, Codex, Copilot, etc.
• Ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly to developers (and decision-makers)
• Prior experience in Developer Relations, Dev Advocacy, DevEx, or a closely related role
• Deep understanding of where developers live, learn, and share (Reddit, GitHub, Discord, etc)
• Curious, fast-learning, and comfortable operating in early-stage ambiguity
• Nice to have: Experience with technical writing, video recording, or public speaking
