Operating within the Quality Control Division and collaborating across functions, this role audits program deliverables, escalates non-compliance, supports engineering teams in issue resolution, and drives continuous improvement using cross-program learnings to enhance design quality, process efficiency, and standard adherence.
Responsibility
- The Electric Vehicle (EV) Quality Assessment and Improvement Engineer is responsible for leading and implementing process improvement initiatives to enhance the quality, efficiency, and reliability of EV design. This role focuses on analyzing existing processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and deploying best practices to optimize performance and minimize costs throughout the EV production lifecycle.
- Work under Quality Control Division in a cross-functional environment across the company's portfolio and all phases of product development.
- Acts in a Preventive approach to improve quality, inspecting engineering activities along project development phases, with target oriented to prevent and ensure standards compliance and quality improvement.
- Daily inspection activities and following-up program gates and deliverables, auditing the process, raising non-comply items and reporting to Leadership the critical items prior to the project gates decision / approval.
- Guide the engineering team to find proper solution to issues found.
- Capture Learnings across model development and build phases to be applied cross model (continuous improvement) - Learning Database governance
- Provide support to improve the process based on projects lessons learned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical / automotive engineering
- 5+ years experience in the automotive industry with Quality and Product development areas Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality design projects.
- Strong background with Quality management activities, Internal Audits, Problem Solving, Continuous improvement, quality assurance
- Experienced in Problem Solving Tools for root cause analysis, application of Containment, Permanent and Preventive actions (8D, PDCA, Quality Tools). Product and Process Improvements (Six Sigma, Kaizen, SPC and other improvements tools).
- Strong knowledge of DFMEA, DVP, Design standards, and Engineering Change processes.
- Good Technical knowledge on vehicle systems and vehicle development activities (CAE, CAD, Attributes, Homologation and safety requirements, DVP&R).
- Establish and maintain process documentation, including flowcharts, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Project Management (PMBOK, Project development gates / milestones / deliverables) knowledge is desired
- Certification in quality management or quality assurance (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001, IATF16949) is a plus.
- Desired familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
- User level knowledge of Teamcenter and Atlassian Jira (desired).
