Produce CAD layouts (block plans) based on draft sketches for new shopping mall sites.
Produce 3D visuals to present concept designs.
Update or revise block plans as required to obtain approval for the next stage.
Develop approved block plans into the design development stage.
Assist the Senior Architect Manager in developing designs for new retail concepts.
Manage the end-to-end architectural design process from concept, schematic design, detailed design, to construction/tender documentation, ensuring alignment with the company's commercial strategy.
Select, manage, and coordinate external design consultants, including architecture, structural, MEPF, landscape, interior, façade, and fire protection disciplines.
Review, evaluate, and approve consultants design deliverables for quality, constructability, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Ensure all designs comply with Vietnamese building codes (QCVN), 1/500 planning regulations, building density requirements, fire protection regulations, and construction permit conditions.
Coordinate multidisciplinary design integration (architecture, structural, and MEP) and resolve design clashes.
Optimize design costs through value engineering while monitoring consultants schedules and deliverable quality.
Collaborate with internal departments (Development, Construction, Leasing, Cost Management, and Legal) to align project design requirements.
Liaise with government authorities to obtain design-related approvals.
Provide architectural supervision and technical design support during the construction phase.
Manage concept design development for new shopping malls and renovation projects for existing malls.
Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience in architectural design and design management; client/owner-side experience is preferred.
Experience in commercial/retail, high-rise residential, or hospitality developments.
Strong knowledge of Vietnamese building codes (QCVN), building density regulations, 1/500 planning, and fire protection requirements.
Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple design consultants while controlling quality, cost, and project schedules.
Proficient in reviewing AutoCAD and Revit documentation, with strong skills in 3D presentation tools, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Solid understanding of multidisciplinary coordination across Architecture, Structure, and MEPF disciplines.
Commercial mindset with a good understanding of customer behaviour and retail market trends.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to recommend practical solutions to support decision-making.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D visualization software, with the ability to communicate design concepts through hand sketching.
Good understanding of local building regulations, including fire protection requirements.
Flexible and adaptable to changing project requirements and varying shopping mall configurations.
Able to explore multiple retail design and planning options to achieve optimal project outcomes.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a disciplined team environment, including remote working when required.
Ability to identify issues proactively and propose effective solutions.
Capable of managing multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.
Self-motivated to stay updated on retail design, customer behaviour, and emerging consumer trends.
Strong verbal communication and 3D presentation skills.
