Key Responsibilities1. Procurement Operations
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities for both direct and indirect materials, including MRO items, machinery, molds, jigs, fixtures, spare parts, quality inspection equipment, services, and CAPEX purchases.
- Ensure timely material availability to support production schedules and business continuity.
- Resolve urgent procurement issues related to material shortages, delivery delays, quality concerns, supplier performance, and price fluctuations.
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Maintenance, Quality, and other stakeholders to understand technical requirements and purchasing needs.
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
2. Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the Purchasing team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Monitor purchasing activities, including PR/PO execution, supplier delivery performance, inventory support, and cost management.
- Provide guidance and support in resolving operational challenges and critical procurement issues.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
3. Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop local and international suppliers.
- Establish strategic supplier partnerships to improve supply stability and business performance.
- Develop backup supplier networks and alternative sourcing strategies to minimize supply risks.
- Monitor supplier KPIs and implement supplier performance improvement plans.
4. Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Analyze procurement data to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
- Develop, standardize, and optimize purchasing procedures, SOPs, approval workflows, and procurement processes.
- Improve procurement planning accuracy and strengthen cross-functional collaboration.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce urgent purchases, shorten lead times, and enhance purchasing efficiency.
5. Cost Optimization & Risk Management
- Monitor market trends, material pricing, and supply chain conditions.
- Lead cost-saving and cost-avoidance initiatives while maintaining product quality and supply reliability.
- Identify procurement and supply chain risks, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Support inventory optimization and working capital improvement initiatives.
6. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain complete purchasing documentation and approval records.
- Support internal and external audits related to procurement operations.
RequirementsEducation
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 7–10 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience in direct material purchasing for manufacturing operations is mandatory.
- Proven experience managing and developing purchasing teams.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP is highly preferred).
