BASF has been active in Vietnam since the establishment of its representative office in 1994 and celebrates its 30-year presence in the country this year. BASF Vietnam Limited was set up in 2009. The company maintains two sales offices in Hồ Chí Minh City and Hà Nội, offering solutions for Vietnam's key industries, including Agriculture, Construction, Automotive, Footwear, Paints & Coatings and Electrical & Electronics. BASF's sales to customers in Vietnam were approximately €238 million in 2023. BASF employed 110 people in Vietnam as of the end of the year.

Objectives of the Position
- Develop, monitor, and implement product development procedures, quality control procedures and policies according to corporate standards to ensure that raw materials meet the production requirements and products satisfy customer expectations and achieve reliability. Supervise and monitor ISO related activities to ensure the attainment of certification and maintain the quality assurance system in the Company
- Participate in the localization of 4W products to meet the business requirements and to ensure the product's performance meeting the customers specifications.
- Manage and lead the Lab and Quality Control team in accordance with business requirements and ensure smooth workflows as well as adequate product and process quality, optimize lab workflows in terms of costs, quality, safety and environmental protection.
Main Tasks
- Formulate and document work programs and objectives. Examine lab workflows (regarding costs, resources, processes, quality, safety, environmental protection), implement optimization measures and test the usefulness of the latest techniques and guidelines.
- Manage/ execute assigned tasks / projects to achieve organization goals.
- Develop new products on time with right quality. Analyze and modify existing products for cost optimization to meet customers technical requirements.
- Manage RM replacement projects for cost competitiveness relating to resins, pigments, solvents, additives without compromising quality.
- Develop suitable application process for designed products at Lab and online to support customers.
- Visit and provide technical services to the customers where and when required.
- Introduce new products and technologies at customers lines, ensure customers satisfaction by resolving line issues as priority and providing sustainable solutions.
- Solve the problems by using different problem-solving tools: finding root cause, taking corrective and preventive actions and working out sound scientific solutions to problems both theoretically and by experiments.
- Develop procedures for safe and efficient working as per ISO / IATF requirements.
- Co-ordinate with different functions to achieve organization goals.
- Lead and develop the team, support the team member(s) in personal development and qualifications.
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Education and Qualification
- Education: Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Technology or relevant
- Working experience: at least 5 years relevant experience
- Technical & Professional Knowledge: Automotive Coatings ingredients and formulation technology / OEM line exposure / Managerial Skills
- Knowledge of Paint application process is advantage
- Language: English, Vietnamese Mandatory, and Mandarin (added advantage)
