Deputy Head (Academic)

Viet Nam Tinh Hoa by North London Collegiate School

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Start date: February 2026 (or earlier by agreement)

Viet Nam Tinh Hoa by North London Collegiate School (VNTH) is seeking an outstanding Deputy Head (Academic) to join its leadership team at an exciting stage of growth and development.

VNTH blends Vietnamese cultural heritage with the 170-year academic legacy of North London Collegiate School. The school is a fully authorised IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) World School, delivering a rigorous dual-language curriculum with high academic ambition, strong pastoral care, and small class sizes. VNTH works in close partnership with Little Em's Preschool, also a fully authorised IB PYP World School, ensuring coherent progression from early years through the primary years. The school is expanding carefully into lower secondary.

The Role

This is a senior leadership role with genuine strategic influence. The Deputy Head (Academic) will provide academic and pedagogical leadership across the Primary School and will act as PYP Coordinator for both VNTH and Little Em's. The role involves working closely with the Head of School, the Senior Leadership Team, and NLCS International to deepen high-quality teaching and learning, strengthen curriculum coherence, and embed excellent IB PYP practice. The position is primarily based at the VNTH campus, with regular leadership responsibilities at Little Em's.

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will be an experienced primary educator with strong academic leadership experience. They will have a deep understanding of high-quality teaching and learning, ideally within an IB PYP context, and will be confident supporting staff through coaching, professional dialogue, and curriculum development. They will be a visible, collaborative leader who values inquiry, high standards, and inclusive practice.

Essential requirements include a recognised teaching qualification, a bachelor's degree or higher, proven experience teaching within the primary age range, and successful experience in curriculum or teaching and learning leadership.

Desirable experience includes a master's degree or educational leadership qualification, IB PYP training, experience in an authorised PYP World School, and experience working across early years and primary phases.

The Package

A competitive international package is offered, including a competitive salary, an initial two-year contract, accommodation allowance, relocation support, annual return flights for the employee and eligible dependents, health insurance, professional development opportunities, and tuition fee remission for up to two eligible children (subject to availability).
