Position: Demand Planning & Data Executive – 6-Month Contract

Job Description
The Demand Planning & Data Executive will be responsible for maintaining commercial data accuracy, developing monthly demand forecasts with Channel Heads, and monitoring billing progress and inventory health.
This is a hands-on, cross-functional role requiring close collaboration with Sales, Demand and Supply Planning, Trade Marketing, Marketing, Finance, Logistics, Customer Service, and distributor teams.
As this is a six-month fixed-term position, the successful candidate is expected to work independently and become fully productive within the first month.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management
- Manage commercial master data, including product, customer, distributor, outlet, pricing, and channel information.
- Consolidate and validate sell-in, sell-out, inventory, retailer portal, and distributor DMS data.
- Identify and resolve duplicate records, mapping gaps, missing codes, and unit-of-measure or currency discrepancies.
- Maintain recurring commercial reports covering sales volume, distributor performance, inventory aging, and target-versus-actual performance.
- Improve and automate reporting processes using Excel Power Query, Power Pivot, structured data models, and Power BI.
- Maintain proper documentation, data definitions, version control, and reporting governance.
Demand Planning
- Build monthly baseline forecasts by SKU, channel, and customer using historical data, seasonality, trends, and product lifecycle information.
- Conduct monthly forecast reviews with Modern Trade, General Trade, and Digital Trade Channel Heads.
- Consolidate commercial inputs related to promotions, new product launches, delisting, distribution expansion, and festive periods.
- Prepare rolling 12–18-month demand plans for the monthly Demand Review and S&OP/IBP process.
- Align forecasts with Sales, Trade Marketing, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain.
- Convert monthly demand plans into weekly phasing for Supply and Logistics execution.
- Track forecast accuracy, forecast bias, and MAPE, and conduct root-cause analysis for significant forecast gaps.
Billing and Inventory Monitoring
- Monitor daily billing progress against the monthly phased plan.
- Provide Sales teams with regular updates on stock availability, allocation, billing pace, and order cut-off dates.
- Track days of stock cover, out-of-stock risks, low-cover items, overstock, and slow-moving SKUs.
- Monitor aging and short-shelf-life inventory and coordinate appropriate clearance, redistribution, or sell-through actions.
- Follow up on inbound shipments, production schedules, and confirmed delivery dates.
- Support stock planning for new product launches and discontinued products.
- Prepare inventory and service-level reports for weekly supply meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Two to five years of relevant experience in demand planning, supply planning, sales operations, commercial analytics, business analytics, or category management.
- Experience in FMCG, retail, consumer goods, or distribution is strongly preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills, particularly Power Query, PivotTable, and Power Pivot.
- Working knowledge of Power BI, including dashboard maintenance, basic data modelling, and DAX measures.
- Experience handling large, complex, and multi-source commercial datasets.
- Good understanding of forecast accuracy, forecast bias, days of stock cover, safety stock, sell-in, sell-out, and product phase-in/phase-out.
- Experience working with senior commercial stakeholders and conducting forecast review discussions.
- Strong numerical reasoning, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Able to manage recurring monthly deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Proactive, independent, and able to take ownership with limited supervision.
- Available to start within two to four weeks.
Preferred qualifications:
- Advanced Power BI and DAX capability.
- Exposure to S&OP or IBP processes.
- Experience working with Modern Trade retailer portals or distributor DMS systems.
- Experience in a multinational or matrix organization.
- Previous experience in a fixed-term, project-based, or temporary assignment.
