Role Overview:
As an ETL/Datawarehouse Developer, you will design, build, and optimize data warehouse solutions, ensuring efficient ETL processes and high-performing SQL Server databases.
You will leverage SSAS Multidimensional to enable advanced analytics and work on query optimization, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to maintain system efficiency.
Collaborating with analysts, BI developers, and key stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in delivering robust and scalable data solutions that support business intelligence and reporting needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Warehouse Development & ETL:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Data Warehouse solutions using SQL Server
- Implement SSIS ETL processes to ensure efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading
- Ensure data integrity, security, and consistency across multiple environments
- SSAS Multidimensional & Advanced Analytics:
- Design and implement SSAS Multidimensional models for analytical reporting
- Write and optimise MDX queries for advanced data retrieval and performance
- Ensure the scalability and efficiency of OLAP cubes and analytical models
- Performance Optimisation & Troubleshooting:
- Optimise SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies to enhance performance
- Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks in data processing and analytics workloads
- Continuously monitor and fine-tune database performance for optimal efficiency
- Collaboration & Best Practices:
- Work closely with BI developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to align data solutions with business needs
- Establish and enforce best practices for query optimisation, ETL processes, and data modelling
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and methodologies to improve data architecture
Essential Skillsets
- SQL Server & Data Warehouse Expertise
- Extensive experience in SQL Server development, including stored procedures, indexing, and database optimisation
- Proven expertise in Data Warehouse design, ETL, SSIS, and performance tuning
- Strong understanding of star and snowflake schemas for data modelling
- SSAS Multidimensional & Query Performance
- Hands-on experience with SSAS Multidimensional, including MDX query development and cube optimisation
- Ability to design OLAP cubes for efficient data retrieval and reporting
- Performance Tuning & Troubleshooting
- Ability to implement best practices for scalability and high-performance data processing
