Job Description

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Lead the management and operational support of enterprise database systems, ensuring capacity planning, high availability, and 24/7 service continuity.
  • Perform routine database administration tasks, including installation, configuration, upgrades, monitoring, backup/restore, and performance tuning.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex database issues, providing root-cause analysis and long-term corrective actions.
  • Support the setup of new business units, ensuring database readiness and seamless integration into the organization's ecosystem.
  • Oversee cloud-based and SaaS database environments, ensuring smooth operation and alignment with corporate architecture.
  • Contribute to multiple ongoing IT projects, working closely with internal teams to support business initiatives.
  • Ensure database operations comply with IT governance policies, including change management, security standards, and risk controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Group IT, vendors, service providers, and regional end users to maintain smooth service delivery.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  • From 3-5 years of experience in database administration within large or complex IT environments.
  • Hands-on experience managing Microsoft SQL Server (2014/2016/2019).
  • Experience administering databases in cloud environments and supporting SaaS-based platforms.
  • Additional knowledge of MongoDB, MySQL, DB2, or PostgreSQL is a strong advantage.
  • Professional certifications such as Azure, MCSE (Database Platform), or MongoDB certification are preferred.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform detailed diagnostics on database issues.
  • Capable of working effectively with vendors, internal IT teams, and end users across multiple regions.
  • Strong commitment to service quality, security standards, and operational excellence.
