ABOUT THE JOB
- Administer and support the management and operation of enterprise database systems, ensuring capacity planning, high availability, and 24/7 service continuity.
- Perform daily database administration activities including installation, configuration, upgrades, monitoring, backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively apply tuning and optimization techniques.
- Diagnose and resolve complex database incidents, conducting root-cause analysis and implementing long-term corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage and execute database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- Support middleware and integration platforms, ensuring stable database connectivity and data flow between systems.
- Contribute to multiple IT projects by providing database expertise during design, implementation, and deployment phases.
- Ensure database operations comply with IT governance, security policies, change management procedures, and risk control standards.
- Collaborate closely with Group IT, vendors, service providers, and regional end users to maintain smooth and reliable service delivery.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- From 15 years of experience in database administration within medium to large or complex IT environments.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle and MS SQL Server database administration.
- Solid knowledge of database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting.
- Additional knowledge of various database such as MongoDB, MySQL, DB2, or PostgreSQL is a strong advantage.
- Experience working with cloud-based databases and SaaS platforms is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with middleware or integration platforms is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform in-depth diagnostics and root-cause analysis.
- Ability to work effectively with vendors, cross-functional IT teams, and end users across multiple regions.
- Strong sense of responsibility, with a commitment to service quality, security standards, and operational excellence.
- Good English communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
