Job Description: Data Test Engineer (+5 YOE)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Data Test Engineer to focus on testing and validating ETL data pipelines on AWS, rather than building them from scratch.

In this role, you will work closely with data engineers to ensure data pipelines are accurate, reliable, and meet quality standards.

This position is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in:

• Testing ETL pipelines or data workflows
• Working with AWS data services (Glue, S3, Athena, etc.)
• Using Python/SQL for data validation and quality checks

If you are a Data Engineer, Data QA, or Analytics Engineer who enjoys debugging, validating, and improving data pipelines, this role is for you.

Technical Expertise:

• Good proficiency in scripting (Python, Rust, GoLang or Java, with strong SQL knowledge).
• Knowledge of AWS technologies such as AWS Lambda, AWS Glue Job, Amazon Athena and Amazon S3.
• Knowledge of data warehousing technologies (AWS Redshift) and data storage formats (Parquet, Avro, JSON) and table formats (governed tables, Iceberg).
• Understanding and experience of ETL (Extraction, Transformation, and Loading) Testing.
• Experience with data transformation and testing tools and frameworks (dbt, Great Expectations, Soda).

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or similar.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and tools (GitHub, Codefresh, Terraform).
• Data modelling experience to support business requirements for data usage.
• Proven skill in communicating and collaborating with analysts and engineers within the team.
