Cake a leading Vietnamese digital bank with over 6 million users is building the NextGen AI Bank, where data and AI are at the core of every product and decision.
We are looking for Data Analysts who want to grow into Data Scientists, working on real, large-scale business problems in digital banking. In this role, you will gradually transition from descriptive & diagnostic analytics into predictive modeling, machine learning, and decision intelligence, especially in Recommendation Systems, Credit Scoring, and Customer Analytics.
What You Will Do
1. Grow from Analytics to Data Science
- Start from deep business understanding and data exploration, then evolve into building predictive and machine learning models.
- Analyze large-scale datasets to identify patterns, customer behavior, risk signals, and business opportunities.
- Design and implement statistical models and machine learning solutions with guidance from senior DS/AI leaders.
2. Solve Real Business Problems with Data
- Work closely with Product, Business, and Risk teams to:
- Translate business questions into analytical and modeling problems.
- Turn insights into data-driven recommendations for product, growth, and risk decisions.
- Apply data science across areas such as:
- Customer acquisition & engagement
- Credit & risk analytics
- Product optimization and personalization
3. Model Development & Improvement
- Build, evaluate, and improve:
- Predictive models
- Segmentation and scoring models
- Early-stage ML pipelines
- Monitor model performance, data quality, and business impact.
- Ensure models are interpretable and explainable for non-technical stakeholders.
4. Collaborate & Learn
- Work alongside Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and ML Engineers in production-grade systems.
- Learn best practices in:
- Feature engineering
- Model validation
- Bias & performance monitoring
- Actively participate in knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.
What We're Looking For
Background & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or related fields.
- 4+ years of experience as a Data Analyst / Analytics role, preferably in fintech, banking, e-commerce, or tech-driven companies.
- Strong analytical mindset with a clear intention to transition into Data Science.
Technical Skills (Must-have)
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis (pandas, numpy, matplotlib/seaborn).
- Solid foundation in:
- Statistics & probability
- Hypothesis testing
- Regression and classification concepts
- Experience working with large datasets and dashboards/reports.
Data Science Readiness (Nice-to-have / Will Be Trained Further)
- Hands-on exposure to machine learning (even at basic level):
- scikit-learn or similar libraries
- Predictive modeling or scoring projects
- Familiarity with model evaluation concepts (AUC, precision/recall, RMSE, etc.).
- Experience with big data tools or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
