Wanek is driving digital transformation across Supply Chain, Production, and Factory Operations and is looking for a hands-on Data Engineering Lead. This role combines data architecture and engineering, requiring the ability to design data models, build pipelines, and support project teams directly. The position will also help build the foundation for enterprise data governance, analytics, and AI initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Data Strategy & Architecture
Define enterprise data architecture and standards.
Design scalable data models for Supply Chain, Production, and ERP systems.
Establish master data standards (Item, Warehouse, Customer, etc.).
Align data definitions across departments.
2. Data Engineering (Hands-on)
Build and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines.
Clean and transform operational datasets into structured formats.
Optimize database schemas and SQL performance.
Develop reusable data services and APIs.
Work directly with SQL, Python, and data processing tools.
3. Data Governance & Quality
Implement data quality monitoring and validation rules.
Identify and resolve data inconsistencies with business teams.
Maintain data documentation and lineage tracking.
4. Support AI & Project Teams
Collaborate with AI engineers, backend developers, and BAs.
Provide reliable data layers for AI/ML applications.
Support troubleshooting for data-related project issues.
Act as a bridge between IT systems and business operations.
5. Reporting & Analytics Enablement
Support dashboarding and KPI frameworks.
Enable real-time and near-real-time reporting.
Prepare structured datasets for analytics and forecasting.
Ensure reporting consistency across departments.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
7+ years of experience in Data Engineering/ Data Architecture.
Advanced SQL proficiency.
Strong Python for data processing (Pandas, NumPy).
Experience building production ETL pipelines.
Strong understanding of relational data modeling.
Experience working with ERP or enterprise operational systems.
Solid knowledge of data quality and governance practices.
Pratical experience in Manufacturing industry is a big plus.
Strong ownership and hands-on mindset.
Practical, solution-oriented thinking.
Ability to work across multiple project teams.
Strong communication between IT and business stakeholders.
Flexible and proactive when solving complex problems.
Strong English communication.
