About the Role:
We need an experienced data systems architect who knows a lot about databases, building reliable data systems, and designing data structures. This person should not only be skilled but also professional, mature, and able to guide and support others on the team.
You don't have to be an expert in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), but knowing something about cloud data systems is helpful. You'll work closely with a teammate who is an expert in GCP to build strong, scalable data systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage data systems and databases that can run smoothly in real use.
- Use your deep knowledge of organizing data, optimizing queries, and improving performance.
- Make sure data is accurate, reliable, and fast across all systems.
- Work with the data architect and team to combine modern cloud tools with strong data design.
- Help junior and mid-level engineers learn and improve.
- Lead talks about data security, rules, and compliance.
Qualifications
- Over 10 years of experience in data engineering, database management, or system design.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and how to design databases.
- Experience with both relational (like PostgreSQL, MySQL, BigQuery) and non-relational databases (like MongoDB).
- Familiar with real-world systems and best practices for running them smoothly.
- Good communication skills with people from different cultures and levels.
