Job Description

JOB OBJECTIVE:

The D2C Category Development Specialist is responsible for developing and managing Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) categories to ensure business efficiency. This role focuses on inventory planning, sales execution, operational management, and product assortment optimization. The position proactively expands product portfolios, develops new categories, and identifies strategic partners to drive sustainable growth for the D2C channel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and update periodic procurement plans aligned with business cycles and demand.
  • Ensure optimal stock coverage and product availability to meet sales targets.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including sales revenue, profit margins, and inventory turnover.
  • Conduct in-depth research on market trends and consumer behavior to identify white space opportunities.
  • Propose and launch potential new categories while expanding product ranges within existing lines.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with new suppliers and strategic partners to build a robust supply chain.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Media, and Sales teams to design and execute sales-driving campaigns.
  • Monitor campaign effectiveness and provide data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Manage pricing policies, promotional calendars, and product information across all digital platforms.
  • Oversee order flows and resolve operational issues to optimize the successful delivery rate.
  • Coordinate with Operations and After-sales teams to enhance the end-to-end customer experience.
  • Propose and track the implementation of tailored promotions for specific categories.
  • Aggregate and analyze sales data and market performance on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Provide strategic insights to adjust product portfolios and business policies for long-term growth.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Commerce, Marketing, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Category Management, Product Development, or E-commerce Operations.
  • Prior experience in D2C or Dropshipping models is highly preferred, especially in Home Appliances or Tech.
  • Deep understanding of the E-commerce landscape and online consumer behavior.
  • Proven track record in launching new categories or expanding product assortments.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools for KPI tracking.
  • Strong capability in sourcing, evaluating, and working with external partners/suppliers.
  • Sharp business mindset with a goal-oriented and proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work creatively and effectively under high pressure.
  • Proficiency in English; fluency in Chinese is considered a significant advantage.
