The Customs Specialist is responsible for managing and executing all customs compliance activities related to import and export operations in Vietnam. This role ensures timely and compliant customs clearance for a wide range of goods, including machinery, equipment, molds, components, and vehicles, while handling import tax and VAT exemption/refund procedures in accordance with Vietnamese regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustoms Compliance & Clearance
Handle end-to-end customs procedures for import and export shipments in Hai Phong and Ha Tinh.
Prepare, review, and submit customs declarations and related documentation.
Coordinate with customs authorities, brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely clearance.
Ensure full compliance with Vietnamese customs laws, regulations, and company policies.
Import & Export Operations
Manage customs clearance for machinery, equipment, molds, components, vehicles, and other materials.
Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve customs-related issues or delays.
Tax Management & Reporting
Process import tax and VAT exemption and refund applications.
Maintain complete and accurate customs documentation and records.
Prepare reports related to customs activities, duties, taxes, and compliance status.
Regulatory Updates & Advisory
Stay updated on changes in customs regulations, import/export laws, and tax policies.
Provide guidance and recommendations to internal teams on customs compliance matters.
Bachelor's degree in Foreign Trade, Logistics and Supply Chain, Economics, Customs, or International Trade
Knowledge and experience in import and export operations, including customs declaration, Certificate of Origin (C/O), Incoterms, HS codes, and regulations related to customs and importexport taxation
Proficient in English across all four skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing)
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
