JOB DESCRIPTION

This role is responsible for building, optimizing, and managing data systems to support analytics and business decision-making. You will transform data into actionable insights, enabling cross-functional teams (Operations, Product, Business, etc.) to improve performance and drive growth. As a bridge between data and business, you will ensure data is accurate, scalable, and effectively utilized across the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Pipeline & System Optimization (30%)

Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, Python, and dbt
Process and optimize large-scale datasets (millions to billions of records)
Improve system performance and reduce cost through efficient query and pipeline optimization
Collaborate with Data/Engineering teams to ensure data reliability and consistency

Data Modeling & Data Quality (20%)

Design and maintain data models (fact/dimension, star/snowflake schema)
Standardize and manage metric definitions across teams
Leverage dbt for modeling, testing, and documentation
Ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, and continuous improvement

Analytics & Insights (20%)

Translate business problems into data-driven solutions and measurable KPIs
Perform in-depth analysis to identify trends, issues, and opportunities
Provide actionable insights to support operational optimization and business growth
Evaluate initiative effectiveness and communicate results to stakeholders

Reporting & Dashboard Development (15%)

Develop and maintain recurring reports (daily/weekly/monthly)
Build interactive dashboards using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and scalability

Cross-functional Collaboration & Ownership (15%)

Work closely with stakeholders across Operations, Product, and Business teams
Balance ad-hoc analytical requests with scalable, long-term data solutions
Proactively identify opportunities to improve data systems and workflows
Mentor and review work of junior team members (for Lead level)

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or related fields
35+ years of experience in Data Analyst / Analytics Engineer roles, preferably with large-scale or production data systems
Strong proficiency in SQL (BigQuery preferred), including window functions, cohort analysis, and query optimization (partitioning, clustering)
Experience with Python (Pandas, PySpark, etc.) for data processing
Solid understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts
Experience with dbt, Git, Docker, Linux is a plus
Hands-on experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate with stakeholders
High ownership mindset, proactive attitude, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
