Job Description

Job PurposeTo lead the Customer Credit & Risk Management function by ensuring robust credit governance, effective portfolio monitoring, and proactive risk mitigation while supporting sustainable business growth.

The role acts as a key business partner to Sales, Finance, Legal, Customer Service and other stakeholders in balancing commercial opportunities with acceptable credit risk, protecting company assets, and ensuring compliance with company policies, MOA, internal controls and audit requirements.

Accountability:

1. Credit Policy & Governance

  • Support OTC Head in developing and maintaining customer credit policies, procedures and governance framework aligned with company risk appetite.
  • Ensure consistent application of credit terms, payment terms and credit approval requirements across customer segments.
  • Monitor compliance with Credit Policy, MOA and internal control requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement of credit governance processes and frameworks.

2. Customer Credit Assessment & Approval Support

  • Evaluate customer creditworthiness using financial statements, payment behavior, business performance and external credit information.
  • Review and recommend credit limits (FGCL, MTCL), payment terms, bank guarantees and other credit security arrangements.
  • Coordinate with Sales and DDT teams to prepare and obtain approvals in accordance with company MOA.
  • Conduct periodic and ad-hoc reviews of customer credit risk profiles.
  • Maintain complete and audit-ready credit assessment documentation.

3. Customer Contract & Onboarding Management

  • Review new customer onboarding requests from a credit risk perspective.
  • Review customer contracts, contract renewals, liquidation requests and code transfer requests.
  • Ensure payment terms, guarantee requirements and financial obligations are appropriately reflected in customer agreements.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Sales and Finance stakeholders to mitigate contractual and financial risks prior to approval.
  • Validate customer master data and credit-related information before activation.

4. Credit Limit & Exposure Monitoring

  • Monitor customer credit exposure against approved credit limits.
  • Review utilization trends and identify customers approaching or exceeding approved limits.
  • Evaluate emerging credit risks and recommend appropriate mitigation actions.
  • Escalate significant customer risk exposures to OTC Head and Credit Committee where applicable.
  • Ensure credit risk decisions are aligned with company risk appetite.

5. Order Block Governance

  • Govern customer order blocking and release decisions related to credit risk.
  • Review and approve exceptional order release requests in accordance with company authorization levels.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service and AR teams to ensure timely resolution of credit-related blocking issues.
  • Analyze block trends and recommend structural improvements to reduce recurring credit-related blocks.
  • Balance business requirements with acceptable risk exposure

6. Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Mitigation

  • Monitor overall customer credit portfolio to identify concentration risk and emerging risk trends.
  • Track high-risk customers, credit limit breaches and deterioration in customer risk profiles.
  • Recommend risk mitigation actions including credit limit adjustment, payment term changes, additional security requirements or account restrictions.
  • Support Credit Committee discussions by providing portfolio risk insights and recommendations.
  • Drive initiatives to strengthen credit controls and mitigate potential bad debt risks.

7. Credit Security Management

  • Manage customer deposits, bank guarantees and other financial security instruments used for credit risk mitigation.
  • Monitor validity, adequacy and utilization of credit securities.
  • Review and recommend additional collateral requirements for high-risk customers.
  • Ensure credit security documentation is complete and maintained appropriately.

8. Reporting & Risk Analytics

  • Prepare and review customer credit risk reports and management dashboards.
  • Analyze credit portfolio trends, risk concentration and exposure movements.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management on customer credit risks and risk mitigation opportunities.
  • Improve reporting quality, transparency and automation capabilities.
  • Support data-driven decision making related to customer credit management.

9. System Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure proper setup and maintenance of credit limits, payment terms, risk classifications and credit control parameters.
  • Support SAP and system enhancement initiatives related to credit management.
  • Drive automation and process digitalization opportunities within customer credit management.
  • Improve effectiveness, efficiency and transparency of credit control processes.

10. Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the key Finance business partner on customer credit risk matters.
  • Collaborate with Sales, DDT, Legal, Customer Service, AR and other stakeholders on customer credit decisions.
  • Provide balanced recommendations that support business growth while maintaining acceptable risk levels.
  • Effectively communicate customer credit decisions and risk concerns to stakeholders.

11. Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure all credit activities comply with company policies, MOA, SOX requirements and internal controls.
  • Maintain appropriate audit trails and support documentation for credit decisions.
  • Support internal and external audits related to customer credit management.
  • Address identified control gaps and ensured timely remediation.

12. Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead and coach and develop the Customer Credit & Risk Management team.
  • Set objectives, priorities and performance expectations for team members.
  • Build strong credit risk management capabilities and governance awareness across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and business partnership.

Business Context

The role is responsible for managing customer credit risk across all sales channels by ensuring sound credit assessment, appropriate credit controls, effective risk mitigation, and strong governance over customer exposure.

The position works closely with commercial and finance teams to balance business growth objectives with acceptable risk levels, protecting company assets while enabling sustainable customer development.

The role serves as a key advisor to management on customer credit risk matters and supports strategic decision-making through risk analysis, portfolio monitoring, and credit governance.

Position profile

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related disciplines.

Experience / skills required:

  • 5–8 years of experience in Credit Risk Management, OTC or Commercial Finance, preferably in FMCG.
  • Strong experience in customer credit assessment, credit limit management and credit policy governance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leading teams and driving process improvements.

Language(s):

  • Fluent in English and Vietnamese.

Functional Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of customer credit risk management and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of credit governance, internal controls and approval frameworks.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Oracle or equivalent ERP systems.
  • Strong business partnering, communication and influencing skills.
  • High level of ownership, attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
