Job Description

As a Credit Risk Policy Executive, you will be primarily responsible for managing and developing policies, rules, and procedures related to credit risk, ensuring compliance and effectiveness throughout the company's operations.

Policy Supervision & Implementation:

  • Supervise the drafting, review, and maintenance of internal credit policies, regulations, and procedures for existing and new products, ensuring consistency with the approved risk appetite.
  • Translate credit risk strategies and portfolio findings into actionable policy criteria, underwriting rules, approval authorities, and monitoring thresholds.
  • Review policy proposals, data analyses, and impact assessments prepared by team members before submission to the line manager for approval.

Digitalization & Automation: Coordinate the implementation of policy rules across credit operational flows, from onboarding and underwriting to approval; identify opportunities to reduce manual work, improve controls, and enhance customer experience.

Scorecard & Model Integration: Work with Modeling, Data, and IT teams to deploy and monitor credit, fraud, and other predictive scorecards; review policy and model logic and coordinate user acceptance testing before production implementation.

Risk Rule Engine Oversight: Supervise the design, testing, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of risk rules for auto-decisioning. Use SQL and Python to validate logic, assess impact, and recommend timely adjustments.

Digital Product & Alternative Data Evaluation: Assess product proposals, partner API initiatives, and alternative data use cases from a credit risk perspective, and recommend appropriate controls and monitoring plans.

Team Supervision & Coaching: Allocate work, review deliverables, monitor progress, and coach team members in credit policy, data analysis, and the implementation of policy rules into operational systems.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Act as the day-to-day Risk Policy contact in company projects and provide consistent, proportionate credit risk advice to relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Business, Operations, IT, Data Science, Modeling, and partners to resolve policy- or system-related issues and ensure the continuity of automated credit flows.

Regulatory Compliance: Monitor regulatory changes, update internal policies and procedures, and support reporting or responses to the State Bank of Vietnam, auditors, and other relevant parties.

Other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Job requirement:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, or related fields.
  • Experience: At least 4 years of experience in Risk Policy Management, Credit Risk, or lending-related functions, including at least 1 year of experience leading a team or coordinating a major workstream.
  • Competence and professional knowledge:

+ Strong understanding of credit risk principles, consumer lending, financial analysis, digital lending journeys, and relevant regulatory requirements.

+ Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of Python for data analysis and rule validation; familiarity with Power BI, databases, data warehouses, and automated decisioning systems is preferred.

  • Leadership & Mindset: Hands-on, analytical, and improvement-oriented, with the ability to coach team members, manage competing priorities, and deliver quality outcomes under pressure.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain risk issues clearly and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
