Position Overview

We are supporting a confidential client in the specialty chemicals sector to appoint a Country/ Area Sales Manager to lead and grow its business, specializing in coating & inks market. This role represents a leadership position, managing a small team of sales professionals while remaining hands-on in strategic customer engagement.

The successful candidate will drive sustainable revenue growth through customer-centric selling, strong market relationships, and value-based solution selling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a small team of sales professionals to achieve and exceed commercial targets
  • Drive sales activities across key customer segments within coatings, inks, and related applications
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers at all levels of management, ensuring preferred supplier positioning
  • Apply customer-centric selling approaches to effectively communicate the value of products and technical solutions
  • Partner with customers to understand technical and commercial challenges, delivering tailored solutions
  • Act as a trusted advisor and thought leader to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Independently manage key accounts and strategic opportunities while influencing peers and senior stakeholders
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with technical, supply chain, and regional teams to ensure service excellence

Requirements

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in B2B sales within specialty chemicals, preferably for coatings, inks, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including coaching and developing sales teams, 2-3 years of experience in management level is a must.
  • Solid commercial acumen with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on execution
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and perform effectively in a matrix or regional organization
  • Recognized as a trusted partner and influencer among peers and senior stakeholders
  • Travel Requirement: Willingness and ability to travel extensively, up to 75%, to support customers and business development activities
