Country Manager, South East Asia - Unbound Travel Group (Remote / Flexible)
The Unbound Travel Group is a growing collective of specialist travel brands, including India Unbound, Sri Lanka Unbound, Remarkable East and Asia Unbound. Founded in 2007, we design private journeys and small group tours across Asia for well travelled guests seeking considered, experience-led travel.
We are seeking an experienced Country Manager, South East Asia(Travel Design & Operations) to lead the design, delivery and execution of private tailor made journeys across the region for Asia Unbound.
This is a critical role within the business. You will be responsible for taking qualified leads from our Australia-based Sales Manager and transforming them into detailed, well considered itineraries, managing all logistics and ensuring seamless delivery on the ground.
The successful candidate will possess strong regional knowledge across South East Asia and experience within the tourism industry. You will report to the Managing Director and work closely with our sales, product and operations teams across Australia and Asia.
Salary
230M to 330M VND annual salary per year, depending on experience. Open to full time or four day per week arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and cost tailor made itineraries across South East Asia based on detailed client briefs provided by the Australia Sales Manager
- Translate client requirements into well structured, experience led travel programmes that are practical, bookable and commercially viable
- Maintain strong, up to date knowledge of destinations, routing, logistics, travel times and seasonal considerations across the region
- Liaise directly with DMCs, hotels, guides and local suppliers to source availability, negotiate rates and confirm services
- Prepare detailed quotations and refine itineraries based on client feedback in a timely manner
- Manage bookings, confirmations and reservations in coordination with suppliers and internal teams
- Oversee pre-departure planning including documentation, logistics checks and final confirmations
- Act as the key operational contact for trips in progress, ensuring smooth delivery and resolving any issues as they arise
- Monitor service quality and client feedback, addressing any concerns and maintaining high standards across all journeys
- Support product development by identifying new routes, experiences and accommodation options across South East Asia
- Assist in building and refining itineraries for future use across Asia Unbound
- Provide on the ground insight and practical input to marketing content including websites, blogs and campaigns
- Participate in reconnaissance travel and agent familiarisation trips where required
About You
- Minimum 4 years experience in a similar role within the travel industry (travel design or tourism operations)
- Strong working knowledge of South East Asia travel logistics, ideally across multiple countries including Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Indonesia,Malaysia and the Philippines
- Proven experience designing tailor made itineraries for international travellers, ideally Australians
- Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with Australian clients
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail across complex, multi-country itineraries
- Commercially aware with the ability to balance client expectations with operational feasibility and margins
- Confident working remotely within an international team environment
Use Of AI Tools
We recognise that AI tools form part of modern workflows and their responsible use is acceptable. However, this role requires strong original writing, editorial judgement and subject understanding. We are not looking for someone who relies on AI to generate full drafts or itineraries without critical review, rewriting and fact checking. All content must be accurate, original and clearly human in voice.
