ABOUT THE JOB
Job title: Cost Accountant
Department: Finance and Accounting Department
Report to: CFO
Working location: Thuan Hai Building, Street 24, Tan Thuan EPZ, Tan Thuan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City (probably travel to different factories/plants).
Working schedule: Monday - Friday: 8:15 AM - 5:15 PM, Saturday Morning: 8:15 AM - 12:00 PM.
SUMMARY
Designed for accounting professionals with a strong grasp of manufacturing operations, this role focuses on ensuring the accuracy of production costs and inventory integrity. You will play a hands-on role in controlling expenditures across multiple plants, monitoring project progress, and optimizing the company's budget. This position requires a proactive approach, combining office-based analysis with frequent on-site factory inspections.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cost Control & Valuation: Verify production data and oversee the unit cost calculation process to ensure accuracy and compliance with manufacturing standards.
- Tax & Risk Monitoring: Review VAT, PIT, and CIT reports; provide practical advice to the Chief Accountant on tax risks and internal control improvements.
- Project & CAPEX Tracking: Monitor construction progress and payment schedules for new factory projects and ongoing technical investments.
- Operational Reporting: Prepare detailed cost analysis reports, management reports to reflect factory performance.
- Inventory & Asset Audits: Organize physical stock takes and fixed asset counts (both scheduled and ad-hoc) at all factory locations.
- Expenditure Approval: Review cash flow plans and verify payment requests/wire transfers to ensure they align with actual production needs.
- Budget Coordination: Assist in building and monitoring monthly, quarterly, and annual operational budgets for all branches.
- Ad-hoc Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
QUALIFICATION
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing, or related fields.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within manufacturing, construction, or agriculture sectors with multiple branches.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of manufacturing cost structures, inventory management, and current tax regulations.
- Soft Skills: High level of integrity, analytical mindset, and the ability to work effectively with factory operational teams.
- Flexibility: willingness to travel frequently to provincial plants.
