Job Purpose
Fulbright University Vietnam recognises that a strong and trusted corporate brand is essential to the university's long term sustainability and its mission critical goals, including student recruitment, fundraising, partnerships, policy engagement, and public trust. The Corporate Brand Manager will lead the development and execution of Fulbright's corporate brand and reputation strategy, ensuring that our purpose, values, and distinctive identity are translated into clear narratives, consistent brand experiences, and measurable communication outcomes across key stakeholder groups.

Solid report to: Director of Marketing and Communications

Roles and Responsibilities
The position's primary responsibilities include but is not limited to:
- Partner with university leadership to define and refresh Fulbright's corporate brand strategy, including purpose, positioning, brand architecture, narrative, and messaging.
- Translate strategy into an integrated annual corporate brand and communications plan with clear objectives, audiences, initiatives, timelines, and KPIs, and deliver results.
- Serve as the steward of Fulbright's corporate identity, including tone of voice, visual standards, templates, and governance, and ensure consistent deployment across touchpoints.
- Lead corporate storytelling and executive communications, including speeches, key messages, talking points, thought leadership, board updates, donor communications, and institutional announcements.
- Design and execute a proactive media relations program to elevate Fulbright's visibility and reputation in Vietnam and internationally, including press briefings and media training.
- Provide issues and crisis communications leadership, including risk sensing, scenario planning, response playbooks, and rapid response coordination, and advise the President and senior leaders.
- Build and maintain trust-based stakeholder engagement through communications strategy, narrative, and programming, in partnership with the accountable units (Alumni Relations, Student Life, Development, Public Affairs, Admissions).
- Oversee multi-platform and multi-channel communications ensuring content is clear, relevant, and optimised for digital and mobile experience.
- Commission and conduct formative and evaluative research, including stakeholder listening, brand health tracking, message testing, and reputation monitoring, and establish evaluation systems to demonstrate impact.
- Provide contextual intelligence by scanning social, cultural, political, technological, and economic trends, identifying strategic opportunities and threats, and producing regular intelligence briefs.
- Lead and develop the corporate brand and communications team through coaching, performance management, capability building, and a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
- Manage external agencies and suppliers, including PR, creative, production, and research partners, and manage budgets, procurement, and quality control.
- Work closely with university units to ensure corporate brand and communications efforts advance institutional priorities, especially admissions, development, academic programs, student affairs, and partnerships.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
- Master's degree is preferred.
Employment/Professional Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in corporate brand management, strategic communications, public relations, or integrated communications, with prior experience in a comparable role, with at least 2 years at management position.
- Demonstrated track record of building and protecting organisational reputation in complex, multi stakeholder environments.
- Proven experience in executive communications, media relations, and crisis and issues management, including advising senior leaders and preparing spokesperson materials.
- Strong capability in research, measurement, and evaluation, including stakeholder insights, brand or reputation tracking, sentiment monitoring, and impact reporting.
- Experience managing budgets, agencies, and cross functional projects; people leadership experience is strongly preferred.
- Competencies - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Corporate brand governance and management: Ability to build and enforce masterbrand governance (architecture, naming, tone, visual identity, toolkits) across units and channels.
- Media relations management: Ability to lead proactive media relations and spokesperson readiness to strengthen visibility and protect reputation.
- Corporate brand campaign strategy: Ability to design and orchestrate institutional brand campaigns and flagship storytelling with clear objectives, briefs, and KPIs.
- Team building and leadership: Ability to lead, coach, and manage performance of a small team and cross-functional workflows with clear standards and accountability.
- Crisis and issues management: Ability to sense risk, plan scenarios, and coordinate rapid response communications under pressure with sound judgement.
- Messaging and narrative: Ability to develop message hierarchy and executive-ready narratives that translate institutional strategy into clear, credible communications.
Other details: This is a full-time position based in Ho Chi Minh City. Occasional travel within Vietnam and abroad is required.
