Job Description

Job Purpose

The Corperate Financial Controller acts as a strategic business partner and lead financial advisor to BOM. This role is responsible for managing financial reporting, controlling, budgeting, cost analysis, internal controls, insurance, and compliance activities to support effective decision-making, operational efficiency, and financial integrity of coorperate.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Reporting & Financial Analysis

  • Prepare and consolidate Capex reports, including tracking actual vs budgeted capital expenditures.
  • Generate and maintain Olympus/Key reports as required by management.
  • Conduct Delta analysis and provide insights into variances vs prior periods or forecasts.
  • Perform costing analysis to evaluate cost drivers and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Analyze P&L variances and ensure explanations are provided in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Adjust P&L by segment in MIS format to support internal reporting needs.
  • Conduct inventory analysis, monitor stock movement and highlight abnormalities (e.g. slow-moving or obsolete stock).
  • Review and analyze scrap data to identify cost inefficiencies.

2. Tax & Compliance Reporting

  • Prepare and submit VAT reports in compliance with local regulations.
  • Coordinate and track freight cost accruals for accurate expense recognition.
  • Handle declarations for Marine Cargo Insurance and Trade Receivable Insurance.
  • Assist in renewing insurance contracts and managing insurance claims when necessary.

3. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support the preparation of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and budget, aligning with business targets.
  • Collaborate on Workday integration to streamline budget processes and reporting automation. Support the preparation of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and budget, aligning with business targets.

4. Operations & Manpower Analysis

  • Generate and review the manpower report, providing insights on headcount trends and cost implications.
  • Analyze and consolidate capacity utilization data in MIS format to track production efficiency.

5. Risk Management & Credit Control

  • Review and monitor credit limits for customers and partners to mitigate financial risk.

6. Financial Controller:

  • Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements and operational performance reports for the plant/site.
  • Analyze financial and operational variances and communicate clear explanations, impacts, and recommended actions to management.
  • Provide proactive and independent financial consultation, interpretation, and education on complex financial and operational topics to departmental leaders to support business decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Plant Director, Plant Accountants, and Senior Management to:

-Explain financial results and performance drivers

-Identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities

-Support operational understanding

-Lead and deliver complex financial analyses and improvement projects

7. Ad-hoc & Management Support

  • Respond to ad-hoc requests from Plant Management and Corporate Finance.
  • Support audits, internal reviews, and special finance projects as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Account, finance or related
  • English: Fluent
  • MS Office: Ms Office. Advanced knowledge of Excel required.
  • Prior manufacturing company experience
  • Manufacturing ETP (enterprise resource planning) experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • High energy and strong curiosity
  • Comfortable walking the manufacturing floor daily
  • Ability to look for new ways for the company to improve.
