Description

As a Core Tech Supplier Quality Engineer, Camera at Apple, you will be responsible for developing and implementing quality processes and tools for all aspects of camera module quality during development and mass production, working with Apple's multi-functional teams and suppliers to ensure a high-quality product.

The role will be required to work onsite in Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, in the first year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction to suppliers, developing quality programs to ensure the highest level of quality and reliability is consistently delivered.
  • Passion and proactively work with cross-functional teams and lead suppliers for inspection system DFM and qualification, and OK2send processes at new product development phases.
  • Work with ME to define quality specification as necessary.
  • Define quality specification (SOP, cosmetic spec, etc) as necessary
  • Set up an incoming material inspection, testing, and sampling plan to ensure robust incoming quality control at suppliers.
  • Work with TPM and suppliers to set up CTQ process control in the manufacturing line, and take actions to drive continuous process improvement.
  • Establish the OQC inspection and testing process through guard band and tester correlation to ensure outgoing parts quality.
  • Work with suppliers in resolving complex manufacturing process, quality, and reliability issues, utilizing DOE and statistical approach.
  • Develop robust processes for FA on customer returns in order to synthesize the voice of the customer into process changes and product development cycles to impact current and future products.
  • Publish reports on supplier performance based on production line statistics, system-level data, and address these issues.
  • Regular process audits to ensure vendors align with POR process parameters and achieve expected results.
  • Build up a data digitalization system with quality sense and computer science
  • Work with supply chain vendors to close the loop on correlation activities and RTV FACA.
  • Work with the vendor to drive the DFMEA and PFMEA to process/quality improvement.
  • Work with suppliers to drive for future quality and continuously enhance the supplier management system improvement, as well as future smart quality control.
  • Passionate and enthusiastic to learn new technologies and skills that would be beneficial for future quality control.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relevant fields
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in supplier quality management or relevant roles in the semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environment
  • Direct working experience in the FTAP or SMT process development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English & Vietnamese, especially in cross-functional collaboration
  • Willingness to frequently travel to domestic and international contract manufacturer sites (worked onsite in Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, in the first year)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in learning and applying advanced technologies (AI, ML) to improve work effectiveness and efficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with suppliers to solve product problems.
  • Understand mechanical drawing specifications and appropriate measurement techniques.
  • Familiar with quality tools, including Cpk, DOE, MSA, sampling plan, data distribution, and data correlation
  • Familiar with 8D report and quality tools/techniques, such as finish bone diagrams, CTQ, etc
  • Familiar with supplier auditing and development.
  • Familiar with TA analysis, understand the 2D/3D model and drawing
  • Familiar with data analysis tools like Minitab, JMP, etc, and big-data analysis tools.
