Assist the Appointed Actuary in overseeing capital and modeling projects, as well as daily BAU tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
i. Prophet Modeling
- Code new products and integrate them into the Prophet master model, collaborating with Product Pricing/Solutions teams.
- Migrate reinsurance calculations to the Prophet master model.
- Maintain regular modeling change requests; enhance and integrate new features based on stakeholder input.
- Act as model owner: oversee maintenance, including assumption versioning, model output storage, and new initiatives (e.g., cloud upgrades, tools for table input generation or output extraction).
- Ensure model accuracy; collaborate with valuation actuaries to explain results for EV/VNB, reserves, ALM, and business planning.
- Manage follow-up actions to resolve issues raised by internal/external auditors regarding modeling constraints.
ii. Actuarial Business Solutions
- Engage stakeholders to understand business needs and propose tailored tools/solutions.
- Develop solutions for sales force compensation costing (agency/bancassurance channels).
iii. Capital Monitoring (Local/ RBC/ Solvency 2)
- Review local solvency calculations for MoF submissions.
- Monitor and manage company solvency across scenarios (stress tests, sensitivities, dividend payments) to ensure financial stability.
- Lead Risk-Based Capital (RBC)/ Solvency 2 projects.
iv. Coaching
- Mentor junior actuaries on modeling topics.
v. Other Duties
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Appointed Actuary to support the Actuarial department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
i. Qualification: University degree (or above) in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related field
ii. Experience:
- 5+ years of experience, including actuarial modeling experience in insurance/reinsurance
- Proficiency in Prophet, R, Python, Excel VBA, SQL
