About the Role
Content at Orient carries our voice to the world - thought leadership, SEO-driven blog, LinkedIn, campaigns, and a steady stream of cross-team requests. The Content Lead will own this function - acting as both editorial gatekeeper and content strategist across in-house writers, freelancers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
The foundation is already in place. Voice, style, and editorial standards are built. Your job is to develop from that base and raise the bar, not start from scratch.
Our clients are English-speaking, and our content is often the first thing they read from us. English quality is non-negotiable. Every piece that ships under Orient's name must read like it was written by a strong native-level writer, with no exceptions.
This is not an execution-only role. We are looking for someone who can think in systems, building editorial workflows and AI-assisted processes that scale beyond the content team itself. You will report to line managers and work closely with leads across Marketing, Sales, TA, and PnC.
What You'll Do
1. Content Ownership & Editorial Quality
- Own Orient's voice across all content touchpoints: SEO blog, thought leadership, LinkedIn, campaigns, and ad-hoc cross-team requests
- Hold the editorial quality standard: as the final gatekeeper, review all output from in-house writers and freelancers for clarity, accuracy, and native-level English before it ships
- Maintain and evolve the existing editorial system (style guide, tone of voice, and messaging frameworks)
- Grow the reusable content library the whole team works from
2. Team Management
- Directly manage in-house writers: set clear goals, give regular feedback, and develop their craft and ownership over time
- Brief and manage freelance writers with clarity, including scope, angle, timeline, quality expectations, and review output before it ships
- Build team SOPs and ways of working that keep quality and voice consistent even as volume scales
3. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work directly with stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, TA, PnC, and technical SMEs - translate complex, technical, or commercial topics into clear, compelling content
- Proactively communicate timelines, flag constraints early, and manage expectations without waiting to be prompted
- Act as an editorial partner, not just a writer — bring angles, sharpen briefs, and push back constructively when a brief isn't strong enough
4. AI Integration & Workflow Building
- Apply AI tools actively in your own writing workflow, including research, drafting, editing, repurposing, while holding the quality bar
- Build and document AI-assisted content workflows that speed up production without sacrificing voice or accuracy
- Evaluate new AI tools and recommend what fits Orient's stack
5. Content Strategy & Formats
- Own Orient's core B2B formats end-to-end: SEO-optimized blog, thought leadership, and LinkedIn - from planning through publication
- Work with SEO to turn keyword and demand signals into a content plan that both ranks and converts
- Build templates and repeatable formats for recurring needs - reducing turnaround on high-frequency content
Who We're Looking For
Must-have
- Exceptional English: near-native or native-level writing and editing. Our clients are English-speaking; this is non-negotiable, with no exceptions
- 5+ years in content, with at least 1–2 years leading or managing others, including freelance writers
- Fluent across core B2B content formats, SEO-optimized blog, thought leadership, and LinkedIn, with a track record of work that performs
- Demonstrated use of AI tools in a content workflow, not experimental, but practiced
- Strong cross-team communication, comfortable working directly with non-content stakeholders who may not brief clearly
- Proactive work style: takes initiative, flags issues before they escalate, owns timelines without being chased
Nice-to-have
- Working knowledge of Finance, Education, or Healthcare (in order of priority) - strongly preferred
- Experience building or documenting AI-assisted content workflows that improve speed and quality
- Experience in a B2B tech or IT services environment
- SEO fluency beyond writing — keyword research, content structure, and on-page basics
- Familiarity with ClickUp or similar project management tools
