Job Description

Company Description: Masan Consumer Holdings is the primary investment platform of Masan Group in branded food and beverage, as well as related sectors, with core holdings including Masan Consumer and Masan Brewery. Masan Consumer is a leading fast-moving consumer goods company in Vietnam, focused on serving diverse consumer needs and enhancing the country's global presence. The company follows the principle of Doing well by doing good, prioritising sustainable growth, social responsibility, and continuous innovation. People are at the centre of its strategy, with a strong emphasis on employee development and meaningful impact on the daily lives of Vietnamese consumers. Joining Masan Consumer Holdings means contributing to both business success and positive social change.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, supporting Masan Consumer Holdings Convenience Foods category, home to flagship brands such as Omachi and Kokomi. The Consumer Technical Insights (CTI) Executive will design and execute end-to-end product testing programs across the full innovation cycle, from concept screening and prototype optimization to pre-launch validation and post-launch tracking. Sitting within the R&D function, this role will translate consumer sensory and behavioral responses into clear, technical recommendations that drive winning innovations under Masan's Consumer-In-Love (CIL) framework. The Executive will collaborate closely with R&D Product Development, the Consumer Innovative Centre (CIC), Marketing, and CMK teams to integrate technical insights into product pipelines and innovation plans. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing test frameworks (CLT, HUT, IDI, sequential monadic), developing showcards and questionnaires using JAR, hedonic, and descriptive scales, supervising fieldwork across key regions (HCMC, Cần Thơ, Đà Nẵng, Hà Nội), organizing sensory evaluation sessions, analyzing data in R, and presenting actionable insights to stakeholders. The role also involves competitive sensory benchmarking against key category players and monitoring product category trends to identify innovation opportunities.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Food Technology, Food Science, or Food Engineering is required for this role. Adjacent fields such as Marketing, Business, or Psychology are not accepted as substitutes, as the position demands the ability to read product formulations and communicate findings in technical R&D language.
  • Strong Sensory and Consumer Research skills to design product test frameworks (CLT, HUT, IDI, sequential monadic), build evaluation tools (JAR, hedonic, and descriptive scales), and uncover technical insights that inform product development.
  • Solid foundation in Applied Statistics to interpret post-hoc tests, JAR/penalty analysis, and drivers of liking, with proficiency in R or equivalent tools such as XLSTAT, SPSS, or JMP.
  • Hands-on experience in end-to-end Product Testing, including supervising fieldwork across key regions in Vietnam, with a willingness to travel.
  • Critical thinking and data quality discipline, with the ability to question methodology and challenge results that don't hold up to logic.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex statistical output into clear business narratives for cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Willingness to learn broader Market Research and Consumer Insights methodologies beyond the sensory toolkit, with structured on-the-job training provided.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise effectively, and deliver under tight timelines.
  • Experience in FMCG, particularly food and beverage R&D or consumer-facing product testing, is highly preferred.
