We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Lead AI Engineer (Computer Vision) to join our AI Perception team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of state-of-the-art perception systems for real-world applications. You will work with multi-modal sensor data and advanced deep learning models to build robust, high-performance AI solutions, while also mentoring and leading a small team of engineers.
- Lead the design, implementation, training, and optimization of deep learning models for perception tasks such as object detection, segmentation, tracking, and classification.
- Develop and improve multi-sensor fusion algorithms (e.g., camera, LiDAR, ultrasonic sensors, radar) to enhance perception accuracy and robustness.
- Own the end-to-end pipeline from data collection, annotation strategy, model training, evaluation, to deployment in production systems.
- Collaborate closely with software, hardware, robotics, and system engineering teams to integrate AI solutions into real-time products.
- Perform performance analysis, benchmarking, error analysis, and continuous improvement of perception algorithms.
- Lead and mentor a team of 35 AI engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and career development support.
- Contribute to technical roadmap planning, architecture decisions, and best practices for the perception stack.
Requirements
- Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience at similar position
- Strong background in computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning.
- Proficiency in Python and C++, and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and computer vision libraries like OpenCV.
- Proven experience developing and deploying AI models in real-world, production systems.
- Experience working with large datasets, data pipelines, and model evaluation methodologies.
Preferred
- Solid understanding of 3D geometry, multi-view geometry, sensor fusion, and SLAM.
- Experience in autonomous systems, robotics, ADAS, or intelligent vehicles.
- Knowledge of real-time systems, embedded AI, and edge deployment (e.g., TensorRT, ONNX, CUDA).
- Experience with MLOps, model optimization, and performance profiling.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Hands-on experience with sensor calibration (intrinsic & extrinsic) for cameras, LiDAR, ultrasonic sensors, or other perception sensors.
