Job Description
The BD Commercial Intelligence & Strategy Assistant Manager is responsible for driving strategic planning, commercial performance management, and growth intelligence for the BD organization.
This role serves as the strategic partner to BD leadership by translating business data into actionable insights, identifying growth opportunities, monitoring performance, and supporting key decision-making processes. The role is expected to bridge strategy and execution by ensuring commercial initiatives are prioritized, tracked, and aligned with overall business objectives.
- Commercial Planning & Performance Management
- Lead annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the BD organization
- Monitor topline performance and identify performance gaps, risks, and opportunities
- Develop and maintain business performance tracking frameworks and management dashboards
- Support target setting and resource allocation across teams, regions, and segments
- Growth Intelligence & Opportunity Sizing
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize growth opportunities across segments, regions, and customer groups
- Conduct market sizing, segment analysis, and business case development
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities
- Develop data driven recommendations to support strategic initiatives and resource allocation
- Build and maintain growth hypotheses and track initiative performance
- Competitive Intelligence
- Monitor competitor strategies, commercial programs, pricing movements, and market developments
- Conduct benchmark studies and competitive analyses to identify risks and opportunities
- Develop actionable recommendations to improve market competitiveness
- Maintain competitive intelligence repository and regular updates for leadership
- Executive Reporting & Strategic Communication
- Support leadership reporting and management review processes
- Translate complex analyses into concise business narratives and executive-level recommendations
- Develop management presentations, business review materials, and strategic updates
- Facilitate leadership discussions by providing fact-based insights and scenario analyses
- Strategic Initiative Management
- Support the development and execution of key strategic projects within the BD organization
- Monitor initiative progress, risks, and expected business impact
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely execution and issue resolution
- Track initiative outcomes and ensure learnings are incorporated into future planning
Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience in Strategy, Business Planning, Commercial Excellence, Business Intelligence, Consulting, Finance, or related fields
- Experience in ecommerce, logistics, technology, platform businesses, FMCG, or other high growth industries preferred
- Experience supporting senior management and business decision-making processes is highly preferred
