Job Description

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Design, develop, and maintain COBOL/COBOLII/eCOBOL applications, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Work with Smart 400 and Business Object (BO of CSC) tools to deliver business solutions.
  • Develop and manage DB2 databases, ensuring data integrity and high availability.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and gather system requirements, ensuring solutions meet business needs.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for life insurance-related applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing COBOL applications in a timely manner.
  • Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Ensure that developed applications are in line with the company's best practices and security standards.
  • Collaborate effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support and contribute to the Life Asia system, ensuring alignment with business objectives and system requirements.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • From 5 years hand-on experience working with Cobol Developement, especially with Smart 400 and Business Object (BO of CSC).
  • Strong expertise in COBOL programming language, with experience in COBOLII/eCOBOL.
  • Hand-on experience working with DB2 databases.
  • Experience in the life insurance industry is highly preferred, with familiarity in Life Asia systems.
  • Experience with mainframe programming and working on legacy systems.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and project timelines.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices in coding, testing, and debugging.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well under high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively within a team
