Job Description

YOUR NEW ROLE

This role is for CODE LEAP's client company - JTL-Software

JTL-Software is one of Germany's leading providers of e-commerce and ERP solutions. More than 50,000 retailers rely on JTL every day to run their business. Our global development center in Vietnam is looking for talented people to build the next generation of these products. You'll work in an international team that pairs German software quality and Vietnamese speed to innovate.

As a Cloud Architect at JTL, you shape the strategic direction and further development of our cloud platform with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure. You design scalable, secure, resilient, and

economically sustainable cloud solutions that form the backbone of our products, platforms, and internal systems.

The role sits at the intersection of strategy and engineering reality. E-commerce demands architecture that holds up under extreme conditions: massive load peaks at Black Friday and Christmas, strict requirements for availability and data security, and seamless integration of payment, shipping, marketplace, and warehouse systems. At the same time, the platform needs to be ready for the AI- driven future of commerce. Within the JTL Group, you join a team of cloud and infrastructure experts building a shared, consolidated cloud platform – one that different products and business units depend on. You work closely with software development, DevOps, Security, and IT Operations, and you stay connected to the broader cloud community to bring new thinking in. If you want your architecture decisions to have real, lasting impact at scale, this is the role.

YOUR EXCITING TASKS

  • Cloud Architecture & Target State: Define and evolve the Azure target architecture, including multi-subscription design, network and identity concepts, and Azure Landing Zones – grounded in the Cloud Adoption Framework and Well-Architected Framework
  • DevOps & Automation: Establish IaC standards with Terraform, design GitOps and CI/CD architectures, and enable development teams through self-service platform approaches
  • Security & Governance: Integrate security-by-design and compliance requirements from the start – covering IAM, network segmentation, and secrets management – and support audits and security reviews together with InfoSec and Compliance
  • Migration, Modernization & FinOps: Plan and accompany migrations from on-premise or legacy systems into Azure, evaluate workloads for cloud-readiness, and apply cost-by-design principles to keep cloud spend transparent and efficient
  • Advisory & Enablement: Review and evaluate existing and new cloud concepts, contribute to architecture governance, create and maintain architecture documentation, and actively transfer knowledge to teams and stakeholders

YOUR PROFILE AND YOUR PERSONALITY

  • Several years of hands-on experience designing and implementing Azure cloud architectures at scale; multi-subscription, hub-spoke networking, and identity concepts included
  • Strong Terraform skills and practical experience with IaC standards, GitOps, and CI/CD pipeline design in a DevOps environment
  • Solid grasp of cloud security principles (IAM, network segmentation, secrets management, Entra ID) and experience working with compliance and security engineering teams
  • Confident communicator who can bridge architecture decisions across development teams, management, and cross-functional stakeholders

Nice To Have

  • Experience in e-commerce or other high-traffic platforms – you know what it takes to architect for Black Friday peaks and mission-critical uptime
  • Hands-on FinOps experience – cost modeling, capacity planning, and making cost visibility a first-class part of your architecture practice
  • Exposure to AI/ML services on Azure and a curiosity for how AI shapes future platform and product architectures
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500), Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204), Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700)
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
