About the Role
This role involves providing primary and emergency medical care to patients and clients, while also offering leadership and support to the medical team within the health service.
We are currently seeking General Practitioner/Emergency Medicine Physician/and Intensive Care Specialist to join our team.
Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Undertake clinical consultations and provide a high standard of service and care to patients attending the health service.
- Develop clinical practice oriented to campus staff and students that offers continuity of care and appropriate follow-up and referral to the HCM Clinic.
- Assist with the implementation of preventative care strategies, including structuring and performing medical screening services.
- Manage the delivery of competent and professional health services according to established standards.
- Assist with ensuring appropriate patient triage and flow within the clinic.
- Provide notification of assistance cases and transfers from the health service.
- Be aware of clients who require ongoing follow-up after admission to the clinic.
- Act as a medical escort when required for appropriate medical evacuations.
- Educate medical and non-medical staff in medical matters where relevant.
Quality Assurance
- Work with the Clinics & Operations Manager to optimize quality assurance and ensure that appropriate medical outcomes are consistently attained with respect to clinic services.
- Review the monthly Inventory & Quality report for the health service.
- Monitor inventory orders.
- Review pharmacy levels and stock control.
- Ensure that patient medical files and documentation are maintained to the highest standards and in accordance with clinic service standards.
- Assist in the maintenance, selection, and control of medical equipment and supplies available in the clinic when required.
- Report any maintenance issues.
- Work within and promote all company policies, procedures, and corporate values.
- Be aware of OH&S policies, practices, and procedures and actively participate in their ongoing development and enhancement.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of reports.
Promotion of Services
- Work with members of the Senior Management Team on initiatives to enhance the clinic profile and activity.
- Participate actively in appropriate social and professional activities to promote services.
- Present important health topics to interested campus community groups.
- Assist the Sales and Marketing Department in explaining medical services to prospective and existing clients.
Qualifications
- Medical doctor with over 5 years post-graduation experience in one of the following areas:
- General Practice
- Emergency Medicine
- Intensive Care
- Sound knowledge of the principles of general practice management and administration.
- Familiarity with ACLS, PALS, ATLS or similar protocols, essential.
- Varied international medical and/or healthcare system experience, an advantage.
- Experience in Assistance and Remote Area Medicine, an advantage.
