Role Description The Chief Accountant role at SIG Group is a full-time, on-site position based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The Chief Accountant oversees all accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, and payroll accounting. This role is responsible for preparing accurate financial statements, monthly, quarterly, and annual closing reports, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and internal policies. The Chief Accountant coordinates audits, supports tax filings, and implements internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure reliable financial data. The position also collaborates closely with finance leadership and cross-functional teams to provide financial analysis, support budgeting and forecasting, and drive process improvements within the accounting function.

Qualifications

  1. Responsibilities :

Tax accounting:

  • Supplement missing / converting data from SAP to prepare tax records, reporting and explanation
  • Preparing tax book in accordance with VAS and local Tax regulations
  • VAT input of all incoming shipments spare parts and all local services; tracking material code - HS code with proper tax rate
  • VAT output for all sales and service; mapping HS code of imported merchandise to demonstrate the applied output VAT rate
  • FCT assessment, calculation, settlement 
  • CIT calculation, tracking deductible and non-deductible expenses
  • Daily monitoring and advise tax impact on business transactions & adhocs 
  • Tax optimization & saving

Government statutory reporting:

  • Financial statements following VAS
  • Statistics report, investment report
  • Other related reports which may occur

Accounting operation:

  • Oversee accounting documentation, filing, and record retention.
  • General accountant - control BS, PL, Cashflow in collaboration with regional accounting
  • Inventory accounting & COGS
  • Establish and execute accounting policy and procedures
  • Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with the SIG Group's accounting policies.

Requirements:

  • Chief Accountant Certificate is mandatory.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in financial accounting.
  • Prior experience as a Chief Accountant is highly preferred.
  • Experience working as an independent auditor is an advantage (Big Four experience is not required).
  • Hands-on experience with SAP or Oracle ERP systems is preferred.
  • Proven experience working with tax authorities is a strong advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) is essential; familiarity with IFRS is an advantage.
  • Experience working with accounting service firms (e.g., Nexia, Mazars, Grant Thornton, etc.) is highly preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, diligent, and proactive, with a strong solution-oriented mindset while maintaining strict compliance.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred age range: 35–40 years
