Position: Category Sourcing Manager-MRO and Facilities
Primary Location: Remote/Canada-Based with Travel Requirements (20-25%)
Schedule: Full-Time
Reports To: Capital Procurement and Project Controls Manager
Compensation: CAD 95,000-125,000 + bonus + benefits.
Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific salary range for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process. Please note that the compensation details listed reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, benefits, pension contributions or additional incentives.

About This Role And About You
The Corporate Sourcing Manager MRO and Facilities is a member of the Corporate Procurement team who oversees the procurement responsibilities of assigned spend categories which are utilized across Chemtrade. In this position, the Corporate Sourcing Manager is the subject matter expert leading in the development and implementation of the assigned categories spend vision utilizing strategic sourcing methods to ensure continuous supply is obtained at the lowest possible cost and minimal risk. Cross-functional engagement, strong communications and collaboration with stakeholders in manufacturing, engineering, and business teams is essential to the success of this role, ensuring alignment to the broader corporate and business unit objectives. Ownership of the complete lifecycle of procurement of Facilities and MRO categories.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Engineering, or other a background in a technical discipline is preferred.
- 10+ years progressive experience in the Specialty Chemical / Petrochemical / Pharmaceutical manufacturing industries is preferred
- Strong track record of negotiating Contracts, Terms and Conditions, and Master Services Agreements with large suppliers.
- Ability to analyze and summarize data in a concise manner
- Experience conducting complex RFx exercises in compliance with technical specifications, negotiating cost, lead time, quality, and performance criteria to select the best partners to satisfy Chemtrade Project, Engineering, and Manufacturing needs.
- Experience with ERP systems (i.e., SAP) required, with a level proficient to pull spend data and manipulate into meaningful analytical reports using advanced tools such as Sheets, Pivot Tables, or Power BI. Project Management skills and/or Six Sigma certification a plus.
- Advanced proficiency using office equipment and office software (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Proven track record of delivering tangible business outcomes, cataloguing, tracking and demonstrating savings and cost avoidance clearly on the categories you manage and agreements you put in place.
- Must have a valid driver license and ability to travel nationally and internationally (to/from the United States) as needed.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Define, create and implement supply strategies for assigned categories with a focus on Facilities Services, rentals, staffing, leases, and MRO items to support all North American manufacturing sites.
- Partner with stakeholders in Engineering, Operational Excellence, Manufacturing, and Business teams to create successful procurement execution strategies to support reliable plant operations.
- Lead diligent, assertive, yet professional negotiations for identified categories to achieve lowest total cost of ownership and adherence to chemical-industry specifications when needed.
- Focal point for Chemtrade in managing supplier relationships for assigned categories, ensuring relationships are established and managed effectively.
- Create educated recommendations about supply strategies catered to the business units they serve within Chemtrade, incorporating Supplier Quality strategies.
- Ongoing Site-level and project-level engagement which includes receiving continuous feedback regarding supplier performance, Influence plant-level buying decisions.
- Support all Chemtrade Stakeholders with Supplier engagement to resolve disputes, warranty, and quality items as a corporate representative.
- Collaborate with Engineering, EHS, and Manufacturing teams to ensure Specifications are in place where applicable, bid processes are being conducted in compliance with Chemtrade Policies, subject to the appropriate commercial and legal reviews needed to execute purchases in a timely manner.
- Develop, lead and implement cost improvement opportunities for assigned categories in accordance with Chemtrade's Productivity program and in collaboration with internal stakeholders and Capital Equipment Sourcing Manager.
- Support the Corporate Procurement's continued evolution includes contributing to meeting the functional's KPI metrics and ensure the processes and policies are being adhered to (i.e., Procurement Policy, Supplier Code of Conduct)
