Role Objective: To lead Phase 1 (Audit and Recommendations) by assessing the organization's current Business Intelligence (BI) landscape and providing a detailed, actionable roadmap for workflow and architectural improvements.

Role Objective:
We are looking for a BI Audit Expert with hands-on and advisory experience in enterprise BI environments, specifically across Looker and Power BI. This expert will help us assess the current BI landscape and contribute directly to Phase 1 of the engagement, which is focused on audit, pain point analysis, recommendations, and implementation planning.
The role is not a generic BI consultant position. It requires practical experience with BI tool architecture, SDLC and release management for BI assets, Git-based version control, environment segregation, and CI/CD design for Looker and Power BI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or co-lead the assessment of the current Looker and Power BI landscape, including architecture, development workflow, deployment flow, access/governance touchpoints, and operational practices.
- Review how Looker and Power BI assets are currently created, versioned, tested, promoted, and deployed, and identify limitations affecting stability, reliability, efficiency, and maintainability.
- Analyze pain points related to version control, environment management, deployment process, release quality, rollback capability, and cross-environment consistency.
- Advise on best-practice target state for both BI tools, with explicit recommendations for Git-based version control, development/staging/production segregation, and automated CI/CD.
- Work with internal delivery members such as data/product analysts, Looker developers, Power BI developers, and data engineers to gather evidence and validate findings.
- Contribute to the production of Phase 1 outputs: Comprehensive Audit Report, Pain Point Analysis, Recommendation Report, and Implementation Project Plan.
- Help shape a pragmatic implementation roadmap for Phase 2, including milestones, dependencies, estimated effort, resource needs, and major delivery risks.
- Support proposal refinement and, where needed, participate in client-facing discussions or workshops during the initial 2-3 week period.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Strong experience with BI (Looker, PowerBI), including development, content structure, release/deployment considerations, workspace strategy, dataset/report lifecycle, deployment practices and environment or promotion practices.
- Proven experience auditing or improving BI delivery models in enterprise environments rather than only building dashboards.
- Demonstrated expertise in implementing BI best practices, specifically concerning deployment, version control (e.g., Git), and automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Practical experience implementing or advising on Git-based version control for BI assets and analytics engineering workflows
- Experience designing or improving environment segregation across development, staging/UAT, and production
- Experience designing or implementing CI/CD for BI tools, analytics assets, semantic models, or data products.
- Ability to translate audit findings into implementation roadmap, resource estimate, and delivery plan
Nice to have:
- Experience in regulated, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or distribution environments.
- Experience working in outsourced delivery or consulting engagements with distributed teams across APAC or global stakeholders.
